Rodgers can't be any worse than Amos.

Looking forward to improved ST play. ST's can be huge in field position.

Holcomb has some good tools to work with. It will be all about having guys in the correct positions to make plays and making adjustments as the game goes on.

Jeff Rodgers opens “thanks coach.. uhh... no-not big on intros so I’ll just take questions” oh boy lol. Special teams were such a disaster the past few years he could have won us over by just talking his scheme for 14 seconds.

Edit: he got into it a bit once the media got it out of him

Also says he is comfortable in being myself. Not a bad thing for a man who is expected to lead. no?

Podium game is overrated. I'd rather not remember Jeff Rodgers name come the end of the season so I know that he did his job.

He also said that because they've worked together for so long, he doesn't see the need to spend a lot of time in the D-meeting rooms.

As head coach, he'll spend most of his time with coaches, not players. You hire the best people you can get, let them do their jobs, and make sure they get any support or direction they need to do that.

Believe it or not, this is actually a hard thing for newer executives to learn, especially when things don't go exactly as planned... which they never really do.

There aren't enough hours in the day to do everyone's job for them.

Go Cards!!!

“I know pretty much exactly what he’s thinking,” Wilks said Tuesday, as Holcomb had his first press conference in his new post. “He understands the expectations of the defense, what it should look like, and the philosophy. I don’t feel like I need to spend a lot of time in that room.”

Holcomb will call the defensive plays – “Again, I believe in hiring coaches and allowing those guys to do their job,” Wilks added – but beyond that, what the Cards’ defense may look like remains vague.
