Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Patrick Corbin has undergone season-ending elbow surgery after a second opinion confirmed the need for the ligament repair. The operation was performed Tuesday by noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Florida. Corbin revealed the operation via Twitter, and Diamondbacks bench coach Allan Trammell confirmed it later in the day when the team gathered for its first workout since returning from its season-opening series against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Australia.
