Yup I posted a similar thread a month or 2 ago. He was one of my favorite players and I'm glad to see he is having a great season.

Leads the NFL in interceptions last time I checked.

He'll be an NFL scout or coach one day I believe.

I am a little irked that he wanted to play cornerback and resisted the move to safety so he bolts town. He then goes to Minnesota and all his success is as a safety

Didn't we always know he'd make one heck of a safety?? I have to agree, it is nice to see him doing well!!

If I remember correctly; it's the team that decided they needed him at corner, and after year one he dropped 10 or 15 pounds to get himself physically in shape for the position. Then, and only then... did we start hearing that the team wanted him to move to safety. He was going into his contract year and knew full-well that his value on the open market would be greater if he was projected as a corner. Minnesota signed him, for big coin, as a corner; saw that he was lacking and then moved him to safety... at a corners' salary.

Wrong. The team wanted him at safety from day 1 and Corey fought it all the way, all the time.

Pansy-ass Tobin and McGinnis weren't strong enough to force Corey to change.

He was originally drafted to play S, although he was a CB at Vandy. He was a backup FS until the last six games of 98 when we had to play him at CB because of an injury to Knight and others. He played great down that stretch and in the playoffs. But, he never wanted to play safety the entire time he was here. Even after he was drafted he said he would do anything the team wanted, but he thought he was a CB.

I like Chavous, and I'm happy it's working out for him in Minnesota. It's too bad for us that the light finally went on for him in Minny, not here. "Gee, maybe I can be a better safety than a CB."

Partially wrong.
