Barbs looked a little slow out there. He definitely wasn't a blur. Hopefully a little familiarity with the offense and players will help. I'm not stoked about him taking Goodwin's minutes. I actually wouldn't mind Goodwin going down to the D-league for a stint to run a team and gain some confidence.

He's 31, had an acl tear a while back iirc. Saw some highlights and he was featured, still looks like he has speed but not the quickness

I think he will be fine. He seems to still have a lot of that speed. He got by his defender with ease on a couple of drives to the rim.

He still does that thing where he doesn't look up at the rim til the last second which makes the shot harder on him leading to more misses close to the rim.

With whom? Nash? Why would it be a negotiating advantage with Nash to lead him to believe that the Suns really wanted Bryant and McGrady instead? Or with D'Antoni, maybe?

They wanted to catch Cuban off-guard. No one was really making noise about signing Nash and Cuban thought he was going to get him at a very reasonable contract given his age and seeming fragile physique. The whole thing went down fairly quickly. Nash gave Cuban an opportunity to match but, in the moment, he wouldn't. He might have decided differently if he had known before that the Suns were going after Nash and had time to think about it ahead of time. Cuban has said often it was one of his biggest regrets--not matching the Suns offer for Nash.

Anyway, its just speculation.

Gambo is entertaining. Mostly because I laugh at his knuckle headiness. However, I find him less tolerable without Mark Asher. Seemed like Asher would keep his stupidity in check or at least call it out. However, since he moved on...Gambo has gotten a big head and gotten louder if that is possible. I loved that show but now? I can only take so much before changing the station.

The Suns sign Barbosa to a second ten day contract. This is good news as far as I am concerned if he is healthy. I'd like to start him alongside Dragic until Bledsoe comes back.

The problems replacing Green with Barbosa as the starting "2" are . . .

(1) Green has constantly declined when coming off the bench while Barbosa is more productive as, mainly, one dimensional -- "instant offense".

(2), Barbosa is small like Bledsoe but not as strong and not nearly as skilled defensively. Barbosa is 6'3"-176 compared to Green's 6'8"-199. Even Bledsoe is more solid 6'1"-190 and a speedy powerhouse.

Light with no 'D' is not the mark of a starter. Instant offense off the bench is using the Brazilian Blur to his, and the Suns, advantage.

The combination of Dragic and Bledsoe was effective for the Suns. I think Barbosa better fills Bledsoe's role as a combo guard than Green. I thought I saw some chemistry developing before Barbosa was injured.
