:barf: Instead of Amare, it'll be the poo poo platter of Choking Frye and Warrick?

So instead of overpaying for a star, we overpay for a glorified bench player. F&#% my life.

If Frye is our starting Power Forward now, other Power Forwards are going to dominate him.

Have their way with him on offense and stay with him on defense. The opponent won't have to switch beyond the arc which disrupts their chemistry.

'Too bad Fry's Food Stores couldn't find the "e". Maybe Channing could work at their distribution center, putting ketchup bottles on pallets from 23 feet away. :)

Frye is better than Diaw and cheaper. We'll be going to the WCF again, or so fans would be willing to buy it and the tixs. What's to worry about?

Market prices = overpaying, for 80% of all FA signings. Either you watch from sideline like Sterling, or you play the game and pay JJ, Gay, Frye the way the market dictates.

Have the Suns EVER re-signed anybody for less than what everybody thought they would pay?

So you get in the game by vastly overpaying Channing Frye? A guy that was practically out of the league last year. Why? Because he hit some 3 pointers for us during the season? Look that's great and thank you to him but this is a huge blunder. The guy is a huge liability. If his shot isn't falling, he's worthless. And you're practically doing backflips cuz we're going to be paying him 6 mil a year. *facepalm* Go after Gay, go after JJ, "get in the game" if you have to, but at least overpay the guys that are actually starter quality players. And if you think Frye is better than Diaw you're crazy. Even with Diaw's underachieving ways, he could still defend, he could still rebound, he could still pass. What have you got with Frye if his shot isn't falling? A 30 million dollar liability, that's what.

Fair deal, just who is Nash going to have on the pick and roll that will keep a defense honest?

If his shot isnt falling hes still dragging the other teams big man out to the 3pt line enabling our gaurds and forwards to rebound more/opening shots for others and spreading the floor. stop overreacting.

+1

5/30 isn't the most desirable number, but hey, most of the people here didn't expect Sarver to spend ANYTHING, let alone that much.

And why are you so balls on assured we'll be going to the WCF? Because we signed Channing Frye? What is it about this guy that makes you feel he's such a worldbeater? Do you not remember how awesomely infuriating his mental lapses and defensive inadequacies were? We lose Amare. Who gives a crap. As long as we have Frye, WCF here we come, is that it? Why?

Settle down. You're acting like someone just killed your dog, man. Why are you making such a big deal about this?

Does this mean Amare is gone for sure?

If so is there any money left to sign anybody else? I would like a PF like Haslem.

I'm thinking more and more that as long as Amare finds someone to do it, we're looking at a sign-and-trade.

I don't totally despise this. $6m a year is around mid-level money and Frye does have some good qualities, although they may be negated somewhat without Amare next to him, ie not being open as much at the 3pt line.

With Amare pretty much gone Frye is now our best frontcourt scorer unless we bring someone else in :barf:

My Frye better than Diaw was sarcasm, sorry that I forgot to put the icon on there.:p
But seriously, the market for Frye makes him in position to demand that price. Sarver might just have done it out of panick. IMO, Frye would be a bad signing given his market price whether Amare stays or not.
