Could Harrison deal push Dansby back to the table?

Depends. Is Dallas or Washington a top 8 team? If they are they will not be able to spend willy-nilly. Top 8 teams in uncapped year have more rules on them then the other 24 teams. They cant sign as many players or spend as much, they will be severely limited in what they can do because of the new rules on top 8 teams in the uncapped year.

Washington probably won't be. Dallas potentially. Question- Top 8 is based on final playoff seeding and not regular season record correct?

He's a Top 6-7 ILB and a Top 3 WLB. You'd be hard pressed to find someone of Dansby's caliber in the league. Please list ten inside linebackers and ten outside linebackers better than Dansby. I challenge you.

And DJ Williams could be as good as Dansby if the Broncos didn't make him play a different position every year. I hate how the Broncos are using him.

Agreed, and I think the team agrees too, hence the 18 mil over the last two years. What I don't understand is their willingness to give him 18 mil over the last two years but can't come to a long term agreement. Now I understand it take two to tango, and maybe it's not the team maybe Los has his dance card filled.

Apparently for what he's expecting , it's not in the teams interest to sign him long term. He might be in for a rude awakening next offseason. I don't see teams shelling out the big deals. He'll get paid, just not in the guaranteed $$$$ that he needs/craves. Then maybe we'll finally come to some kind of terms with him.

Do you say he's a better 4-3 ILB then our own Gerald Hayes?

And are you calling for stricktly 4-3 OLB's? Because there's not an abundance of them any more.

It's easier to find a Will than a Sam.

Isn't that part of a song by Herman's Hermits? :D

As for your list of LBs I would eliminate most of them because while each one has something they may do as well or better than Dansby almost none of them have the overall production Karlos has had over his career. Tackles, Sacks, Interceptions, forced fumbles and PDs.

Too many people keep using comparisons to other linebackers that really should apply to Gerald Hayes. GH is supposed to be the Cards prototypical ILB not Dansby. Dansby is a playmaker. A guy who can turn a game around with a key sack or turnover.

There just aren't that many guys who fit that mold in the NFL. Julian Peterson is one. Just look at Dansby's overall production and compare it to Peterson's first 5 seasons. Very similar.

That's a fair assessment and you're right Dansby's been a producer in top company, but I still think finding a capable replacement wouldn't be impossible.

Guys on the list like Ryan, Lofa, etc are up for even closer scrutiny because they don't play the same spot. However, they made the list because they played there in college and there's no doubt in my mind they could play it in the pros.
