Could Ichiro hit .400 this season?

Any math gurus out there that can figure out if he has a shot at .400?

Even though I don't root for anyone in the American League (sorry, Curt), I'd like to see someone in MLB hit .400, as long as it's someone who's earned that plateau. Someone who's not a fluke.

Ichiro has earned the right. I'm pulling for him.

Four for seven tonight and now at .372. This guy is unreal. To me, the pursuit of hitting .400 is as exciting as the pursuit of the home run record.

I just did a calculation and basically, he'd have to average four at bats a game for the remainder of the season and hit .500, about 84 for 168, to end up at .403.

I think he is capable, he has been hitting about .500 since the break.

I don't see how getting a lot of walks helps?

When teams do pitch to him he rarely gets very good pitches to hit.

I personally don't like the guy very much and believe that he's doin' the juice but he earns his hits.

It helps Bonds because a 4-4 game will raise his average much higher then a 4-4 day for Ichiro.

He can increase faster because he has fewer AB's but he still has to hit .400.

The fact that he gets walked so much makes it that much more difficult for him to do it. He actually has fewer chances to get his hits.

I am not a fan of Bonds, but you cannot argue how great of a hitter the guy is. His eye-hand coordination is what makes him a great hitter. The steroids only make the ball go further, and even that is debatable.
