Hey, great. Then maybe the D'Backs can have a new ballpark built somewhere else on the 101 and you can see all the stadiums in one long drive!

"Sarver has been on record saying that the current downtown Phoenix arena footprint is too small in terms of square footage and would be a poor investment to re-model."

Oh, well after that exhaustive and impartial analysis... Seriously, I don't doubt he's certain about this, but obviously he's going to prefer a franchise-value increasing new facility--plus the inside track in a major development--to the compromises involved in remodeling an existing facility already owned by the City.

Sarver is a sleezeball and a moron. He cares little about what's best for the community, he only seems to want to line his own pockets.

Unfortunately, it seems almost inevitable the Suns will eventually be playing on the Salt River Pima land. Voters aren't going to go for a stadium tax after seeing what has happened in Glendale and eslewhere in the country. Especially not for an arena that is absolutely A-OK.

If the Tribe foots a large portion of the bill (they built the D'backs/Rockies stadium w/ cash!), it'll be too hard of an offer for Sarver to turn down. Even if he actually cared about the city and downtown, nearly all businessmen would make the move to a subsidized arena on the Indian land, closer to the affluent part of the Valley.

Yeah, shame on the greedy businessman for wanting his business to be profitable.

Also Sarver could be looking for leverage.

I thought a great place for a dual-sport arena would've been PV Mall site. Of course the mall would need to be torn down.

It is profitable. Now he wants to screw the taxpayers who built the Suns a new building not that long ago.

Well, not if its at Talking Stick, its on the reservation. Unless you're a Native then you're not going to be paying for that.
