As long as we keep Fitz on this team and healthy we will be competitive. He is the type of player that lets any QB and any offense do things that normally cannot be done and that alone will keep this team from being a bottom feeder. We very well might go about 7-9 next year if all that you said happens, but given our teams history, 7-9 is a good season in retrospect.

If we lose our OC, DC, Q, Dansby, Smith, Warner this could be a thousand times worse than 1998/99.

And dont forget if Boldin can just stop being a cardinal so can Dockett. He was threatening a goldout last year too like Boldin if you recall.

I am not sure that everyone on this board gets what type of team the Cardinals are building. If you believe they are going out and making a big splash in FA, you would be mistaken.

Remember, this is Pittsburgh West: Keep your core group of players, let go of players demanding big contracts (because you did your job and coached up cheaper replacements that can fit the bill), and grab depth or "value" free agents.

The Cards should be about 50 mill under the cap. If they can't maintain or better their team, something is seriously wrong.Bidwill and Graves will show their true colors this off season. If it's all about the bottom line, then the team will be a mess and the "Bidwill is cheap" and "Rod Graves should be fired" threads will all be legit. I don't think that will be the case but,if if turns out that way, there's is no defending them. OTOH, if they make the moves to keep the likes of Dansby and bring in a Suggs, then they should be praised. We'll see.

This team has so much more talent compared to the 1998 team. Losing all of those guys would be a setback. However we wouldn't instantly become a 3-13 team again. There is just much more quality depth on this team now.
