What an improbable win in Florida last night. Down 3 in to start the third period, and we pull out a tie. The shootout was icing on the cake. Two more huge road points. Stempniak again a big contributor. Go 'Yotes !!!!!

Make it 8! Just call them the Cardiac Coyotes. Down 4-2 in the 3rd period, Stempniak and Aucoin score and then Vrbata does it again in the shootout. They are now one point behind the Sharks and two points behind the Blackhawks for the top spot. What a difference Tippett is.

Great to see a packed arena, even if there were quite a few Hawk fans.

Quick note: Lee Stempniak now has 9 goals in his 8 games as a Coyote. Don Maloney might be the greatest thing to ever happen to the Coyotes.

That definitely was fun to watch! The only downside is that the next game may be sold out before I can get tickets, but I'm glad that the stadium is filling up finally. This team looks real good right now. They do need to improve on the power play still, but I have a lot of confidence in these guys going into the playoffs. 8 in a row!

Edit: And it is nice to have a general manager who can make moves like this. I'm not used to it.

Went last night - great game, great comeback.

Power play, both on offense and defense, still stinks...

Too bad the penalty shot was missed - although it is always cool to see the shoot out.

Coyotes up 2-1 over Dallas in the second period. Both scores came on the power play with Vrbata getting one of those goals.

Sharks down 3-0 going into the 3rd and the Coyotes going into overtime. Looks like at the very least, a tie in points when the day is over. If the Coyotes win, they tie the Hawks with 97 points and the #1 seed.

Make it 9 straight! Vrbata and Aucoin score in the shootout. First place Coyotes, how does that sound? Huge game on Tuesday at Chicago. I am loving this season!!!

This season has been unbelievable, from the ridiculous number of deadline trades to the Hollywood-like finishes since the Olympics.

You know you're good at what you do when everyone and their mother knows exactly what you're going to do...and they still can't stop you.

Mariano Rivera has nothing on Adrian Aucoin!

I occasionally work with the guy who works the sound board at the games, I think we need some 'Enter Sandman' to play should Oakey get another opportunity to close one.

After getting shut out by Chicago, the Coyotes overcame a 3-1 deficit in the 3rd to tie it but lost it in the shootout. Getting one point was huge because they need to stay close to San Jose.

going to be a crazy finish

as a sharks fan I really don't want the #1 seed - but would love the #2 seed

the thing I'd like the most is for them to start playing better - it looks like they're starting to turn the ship a little and played about 45-50 minutes of good hockey last night against dallas .... they need to keep building on this

however, a 1st round matchup against detroit is a bit frightening

Coyotes looking good in tonight's game, but should it be a concern that they always seem to be down on the faceoff's? I don't know how important that stat is...

Looks like Detroit has a good chance at the 7th seed. In that case, I'd love to go into the playoffs as #1.

The Coyotes are most likely going to get the 4th seed unless San Jose falls apart. The one team I don't want to face in the first round is Detroit.

I think that Detroit will end up with the 5th seed and the fight is on with San Jose to find out if we play them in the first (4th seed) or second round (1st seed, Detroit beating San Jose in the first round).

Detroit won't catch Chicago for the 2nd seed (division lead).

Scoreboard watching:

Aside from the Coyotes beating Colorado which is obviously the most important part, not a good night as far as the other results go. Detroit (who I think just about everybody wants to avoid) is a point away from the 5th seed after beating Nashville in OT, San Jose beat Vancouver to keep a 2 point lead over Phoenix, and LA lost to the Stars.

Tonight's big game is Colorado visiting San Jose, both teams played last night. Hopefully Colorado can get the win.

Thanks to Colorado falling apart against San Jose, the Sharks are now four points ahead of the Coyotes with six games left for each. The way things are looking, the Coyotes would probably need to win five out of the remaining six games, including the finale in San Jose in order to take the division. I just hope that some team is able to keep Detroit away from the 5th seed.

Colorado actually played a much stronger game in SJ than they did here in Phx - SJ showed a little life playing without thornton for the 1st time since he was traded, at the end of a home stand and an earlier start following a tough game against vancouver

a quality 2 points

nice to see my sharks starting to turn it around a bit

another thing to keep in mind when projecting 2nd round matchups is that you re-seed

so if 1 beats 8, 2 beats 7, 6 beats 3, and 4 beats 5 .... the 2nd round would be 1 v 6 and 2 v 4, etc

Vancouver taking it to the Coyotes as they are leading 4-1 in the 2nd period. It doesn't get any easier as they have to go to Calgary tomorrow. I just hope they can get the #4 seed and have home ice for the first round.

I think there is a good chance they'll get the #4

Vancouver needs to really close strong to secure the #3 spot

Calgary is definitely a winable game - you guys may get their last gasp at home, which could add an extra element to the game - but they are on life support and fading fast

This one has been rough so far. Calgary's goalie has been fantastic tonight, preventing the Coyotes from scoring on the many opportunities they've had...It's not looking like we'll be able to take advantage of another very poor performance by San Jose tonight. :-/
