I love this trade because we all know the Coyotes have an over-abundance of offensive-minded defenseman, but by them continously adding more physical players, the team will continue to improve by leaps-and-bounds...

I've been impressed w/Mike Barnett for the past few years and I hope these transactions finally translate them in advancing to the post-season.... Continuity is the essence here and I believe they'll finally have it this forthcoming season...

Now.. let's re-sign Nagy and LOOK OUT!!!!!

Apparently, Boston fans love this trade. They state that Boynton has all the talent in the world, but that he is too arrogant and stuck up to work at his game. Also, the fans think that he takes stupid penalties and pouts when he thinks his talent is not paid the correct sum. Hopefully these guys are wrong but from what I have read this guy seems like a headcase.

In addition, I still think that once we resign Nagy that we need to have another scoring threat. I do not think one will come from our minors for a while, but if we get someone via free agency then I think we have a chance to compete.

Just curious, why the urgency to unload Mara? I'm guessing it's because he's not defensive enough or physical?

Why is Boynton rated higher than Mara - at least in this trade? I thought Mara was a good young player. I mean, sure Mara was a -12 last season, but Boynton was a -7 himself and is a year older. I don't get this trade, but since I haven't ever seen Boynton play (or at least pay attention to his play) I could be wrong.

I always had the impression people were down on Mara.

Boynton is a former all-star who will probably be lined-up with Michalek and perhaps Jamie Rivers to form a solid physical defensive unit......

There wasnt a need for Mara any more with the emergence of Ballard and the fact that Derek Morris reverted back to the impressive offensive game that he displayed in Colorado....

Also... Seidenberg and Spiller will give that physicality as well....

I would love for the Yotes to add Scott Gomez, however, more than likely that wont transpire since he's probably going to outprice himself out of their range... We shall see... this is the most crucial offseason in this franchise's history.... Must live-up to their full potential and help fill Glendale Arena on a consistent basis since it's no longer the novelty as it was last season (being the first full season played there)....
