First attempt. Came out really tasty. :D

Nice steady vanilla flavor with just a hint of orange.

My wife and I did this during Christmas, I bought a crack torch to burn the sugar. Everyone who comes over and goes into our kitchen drawer is always, "WTF"?

Well, the ramekins we have are probably 5.5" across and 1.5" deep.

I need to get some smaller/deeper ones for tastier treats.

I've never understood the lovefest with custard and burnt sugar.

I'm going to a nice restaurant tomorrow night (right before a Roger Clyne show); I just checked...they have creme brule on the dessert menu. I think I'm going to have some.

I did get the creme brule, but it was in a deep and relatively narrow ramekin so I didn't enjoy it as much as I normally would have. When it's in a wide, shallow dish, the torch heats the custard. This one was so deep that most of it was still cold. Thus, it was just okay.

Didn't actually make it to the show, but that's a whole 'nother story.
