No surprise here. Bowles and NY is all Cro needed to make his decision

He's on the record stating that his wife really missed NY and wasn't in love with AZ...he also stated that he would put his wife and family before all else, even winning.

The sense in the locker room towards the end of the season was Antonio Cromartie always wanted to return to New York.

We knew he wasn't coming back. Powers played as well or better for most of the season. We'll live.

As of right this moment (let's have fun and assume we don't do anything in FA or the draft), who moves over to CB2? Powers? Bethel?

I assume Powers but isn't he better as the nickel corner?

Well Cromartie has fathered 12 children with 8 different women in 7 seperate States so he had several places to choose from! :)

I don't think Cro is the same person he used to be. He seems to have grown up and out of his reckless sperm donor days.

Cards players were quoted as saying he never shut up about NY. His home is in Jersey. He went on SportsCenter to basically beg them to take him back.

Honestly, I think he was choosing between NYJ and retirement, rather than any other team that wanted him.

Cardinals love the potential of Bethel as a starter. Think going to Pro Bowl as special teams player has helped his confidence.

I think most of us assumed he was only going to be here for a year anyway.

I'm not opposed to this idea at all.

I think this will place a need for a cornerback in the draft. There are quite a few good sized cornerbacks in the draft that could come in and help the Cardinals out.

It was both surprising and not how quickly the cornerback market dried up in this Free Agency.

I like Darius Butler, Kareem Jackson, and Mike Jenkins, and none of them lasted a day into free agency.

We all know Cromartie wasn't coming back, but he played very well for the Cardinals last year, I was surprised how good of a player he was.......even if he doesn't tackle.

Just like the AP thread, why start assassinating someone's character, just because he no longer works for the team you root for? Sure, Cro has a past, but as far as I know, it's in the past and he seems to be a different person now. He played well, while working for the Bidwills and I don't recall him badmouthing Phoenix, the state of Arizona, or the Cardinals franchise. Just let him go in peace and wish him well.

Bethel as Special Teams gunner: All-Pro + Badass

Bethel as CB2: TBD

For his new role, he can't just rely on his physical skills, ask #21. Although if he's even at 80% as he was in his special teams role, I would quantify that as badass
