Citing sources, NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that the Jets plan to let free agent CB Antonio Cromartie walk this offseason.

According to Lombardi, the Jets are more focused on re-signing Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards. GM Mike Tannenbaum made it clear he wasn't thrilled with Cromartie's postseason remarks about Tom Brady, the NFL, and the NFLPA, and the Jets may be interested in free agent Nnamdi Asomugha. Ironically, Cromartie could appeal to the Raiders with a ridiculous size/speed combination. He also excels in press-man schemes like Oakland's.

new CBA signed on March 4th..

Sign Cromartie with his couz, maybe they will push each other to not be Bone heads...

Trade 2nd round pick for Kolb

Pick Von Miller/Robert Quinn at #5

We fill most our needs and will be once again rise to the top of the NFC west in 2011..

Ugh...Cromartie, Cromartie and Von Miller. Do you want this defense to tackle anybody?

Robert Quinn can tackle people ;)

I'd still never sign Antonio Cromartie. Him and his cousin are turrible at tackling. Especially since Horton has stressed the importance of having a sure tackling secondary.

Uh..Von Miller can tackle check his stats. If we can also land Wimbley the CB's may not have to tackle much as the pass rush will cause a lot of throws to be rushed.

Kamerion Wimbley may be a good pick up. Seems like he may be one of the best OLB FA's to hit the market.

But if you think Von's drag 'em down style of tackling, which was not very consistent or reliable in college will work in the pro's, then...I guess...well, you're entitled to think so. Funny however that Von was pulled on obvious running situations, and that a lot of running success happened against Texas A&M when teams ran to his side while he was in. Part of that is because he isn't very strong at the POA and gets completely overwhelmed if a blocker gets a hold of him, and the other part of that is because he simply runs himself out of plays.

I will give him credit, he did have 17.5 tackles for loss this season, but 11 of them were assisted, and 2 were against QB sneaks.

Cromartie is a bum and we already have one cro that doesn't tackle, we don't need another one.

They either use it on him or Zach Miller (unless one of them resigns b4 tagging time is over).. that would at least make it somewhat plausible we could get the other.

You could not have said it any better. Unless they change the rules in the next CBA and it is flag football, I will pass on him thank you.

And by the way I am sure that the only thing Cromartie would be perfect for is head of NFLPA since he would know the CBA by heart. Condom Broke Again

On Sirius Horton named his defensive foundation as three people: Dockett, Wilson, and DRC. He LOVES DRC

How much game film has he watched on DRC?
Probably just youtube highlights :doi:. Horton knows exactly waht DRC is, one of the top talents in the game at CB. He had a down year last year but Horton has let it be known what he thinks of last year's Cards DB coaching staff. DRC is on his way to multiple Pro Bowls.

Thanks for your stats and insight on Miller. I'm not very high on him myself...especially in a 3-4 D. Wimbley would be nice. I like Matt Roth as well.

The "get Antonio Cromartie" thread seems to pop up every single year. There's a reason he's available every off season.

There is no doubt that DRC is talented, so why shouldn't Horton love the guy. But I have doubts that that love will continue if DRC doesn't improve his tackling.

In his sit down with Wolfley, he stated that a missed tackle in the secondary almost always means a touchdown or a very long play. This is what has me worried about DRC.

I really want us to draft a QB with our 1st pick but if we opt for defense I do not want Von Miller. I think he is way over rated and a bit on the small size at 243. There will be some good defensive players available. To me Miller would be a big risk at the #5 - #10 pick. His opposition at A&M was not like playing in the SEC. I view him as a second rounder but then I do not view all his films like the pros will. At this point in time he is hyped very well. I will be anxious to see how the pros view him. Following is his bio:

When did we see that though? Normally any long plays were the result of guys being out of position or poor coverage...not much in missed tackles, no doubt DRC doesn't like to hit but I can't remember him missing a tackle and the guy turning it in to a long run.
