QB1! His QBR has been at or near the top of the league all year. Not flashy, but it's obvious they wanted to see him work within the tight constraints of the offense and improve the overall efficiency.

I know the Detroit model of a rebuild has been mentioned...and I think this is something they made Goff going through, too...as he always had talent, but would make boneheaded mistakes occasionally. Once they got to year 3 and guys like St Brown were no longer rookies and were more developed, they really expanded that offense and it's continued this year. They also infused a lot more talent at that point, too. They lost a bunch of close games to better teams in year 2 (sound familiar) and were chasing a playoff spot into the final week.

I hope this is exactly what is happening.

It makes a lot of sense.

Gonna give some props here. The 1st half running game adjustment was phenomenal. The TD on 1st and 1 was well designed.
And there we go...he showed his ass again. They stack the box in the second half, and he has no adjustments *cough* play action *cough*

Just not a good OC. At all.

Thread stands.

It's kind of crazy that you rarely see Kyler do the deep dropback play action pass that many, many teams do. We have such an impactful running game, and it feels like we never use it to open up the middle channel of the field for our deep passing game.

New full time - only WR coach, no split duties with passing game cuz we all know how that looks. If Petzing stays we need to bring in a seasoned pass game coordinator who is creative and can make adjustments. Every game I see Detroit play there are 1-2 plays that make me go “wow” that was creative and defense couldn’t handle it, and that is besides seeing open WRs all the time. Either their scheme is superior to ours ( likely ) or our WRs couldn’t juke my Grandma to get open ( also likely ). Either way it all adds up to the current Cards passing game. Don’t get me started on the QB.

I know itis a staple of his offense, but how many times do you call playaction boots & waggles when they weren’t working tonight? The Lambs defensively played & schemed to stop nearly every one of them & Petzing kept calling them as Kyler ran for his life on nearly all of them. Dumb move by him & shows his questionable play calling. A good OC would’ve stopped imo.

Two timeouts in the pocket, 40 seconds or so, from the 6, run the ball. You LOVE TO RUN THE BALL. What the actual f?

You guys are RIDICULOUS. All season long you’re bashing Petzing for being too conservative and not putting the ball in Kyler’s hands. Then, without our best RB, NOW you’re clamoring for conservative running plays… when the call was actually perfect if Kyler doesn’t throw it behind and late, spiking the ball off our best receivers head?

Good lord you guys.

Best retort ever lol

Thankfully Petzguy will be fired at the end of the year after this offense put up zero pts in the half and 9 for the game.

Something has to change and the million dollar QB ain’t getting moved but a below average OC will.

Cards aren’t running this offense back unchanged after what we have seen.

Bro, come on. With 2 TO, on the 6, with 40 seconds, we should be running.

I blast Uncle Fester for invariably making bad calls at the worst times. This was a shining example of this.

You are way better than this. I know it and you know it.

And cheese, if you are thinking we are blasting Drew for "not putting the ball in Kylers hands" you have absolutely lost the plot here.

You’re just speaking outta both sides of your mouth. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that if we run it there and get stuffed, every Petzig basher bashed him for being too conservative.

Reality is he called the right play. Kyler just threw a bad pass. If he throws a good one, it’s a TD. I know it and you know it.

Sure. It's a bit like Warner passing instead of calling a run at the end of the first half at the Super Bowl (2009) ;)

We had a first down at the 5, with 47 seconds to go and two time-outs. If Petzing had called a run, and we didn't score, we still had time on the clock. Like the Warner pass, it was a too-cute by-half call.

Nope, it was tailor made to run it there. Twice, even. 4 down territory, ticking clock. Not running was an amazingly bad coaching decision. Amazingly bad. Even IF they score on that, you leave 40 seconds and 2 timeouts for the Rams.

Please don't excuse bad playcalling because whatever wild reason is in your head rn.

Petzing sucks as a playcaller, and this was a prime example. I don't care if we get stuffed, it's the right call. 100 times out of 100. If we wanted to pass, that's later, probably after the Rams burned another timeout, and it should have been play action.

You aren't related to Petzing, unless Ouchie has been fooling us all along. Stop defending a horrible playcall because reasons.
