Can free up another 15M if needed by cutting Veldheer and Bucannon.

are you benching Pugh or Iupati for Smith? There’s no one left worth breaking the bank for. I would keep Veldheer since I don’t view Smith as a suitable replacement but I would start Smith at OG. If they cut or trade Veldheer then I would sign Fleming if he’s still available. Bucanon needs to re-structure as he is not worth $8M, problem is there are no more ILB on the market unless you are interested in older guys like Derrick Johnson or Lawrence Timmons. Zach Brown re-signed with WAS. Bowman is out there but he is more of a 2 down run stuffer than a 3 down LB.
Going down the list of remaining FAs I see a lot of potential fits.
Suh?
Flier on Bashaud Breeland?
Kenny Vaccaro? Terrell Pryor?
Hankins could be a NT if we're keeping a 3-4 base.
Jordan Matthews is still out there.
Tre Boston?
Mike Wallace? DRC?
I would put Dontrelle Inman on that list as well for WR, but he is currently visiting the Cowboys, so he might not be available for long.
Shoot, forgot about Pugh. But chances are Smith could see a lot of time at OG because of Iupati’s durabilty issues. Pugh & Iupati would start the season at OG.are you benching Pugh or Iupati for Smith?

Play Smith at guard in the place of whom?
The Cards picked up Bucannon's 5th-year option. The options are to pay it; sign him to a new deal or cut him.

Right now the 8M on Bucannons contract counts against the cap an if let go it still counts against the cap. Best option is to extend his contract to lower that cap hit.

Yes it became guaranteed on the first day of the league year, so now we are stuck with that cap hitDid his contract just become guaranteed on the first day of the league year? Why didn't they re-work his deal or cut him before? Maybe I was wrong, but didn't think there was any dead cap?

As of this moment, they're at about $13.5mil in space. https://www.nflpa.com/public-salary-cap-reportxc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
They don’t need to franchise Johnson, they have a lot of space next year even if they pick up Bradford’s option. Need to have an exceptional draft if ARZ wants to maintain long term cap flexibility, young, good, cheap talent goes a long way.As of this moment, they're at about $13.5mil in space. https://www.nflpa.com/public-salary-cap-report
If they're going to try to extend DJ or Golden, they'll need to free up some more space; Bucannon is still a likely candidate. DJ will probably be franchised.
19 million right now per jurecki
Over the Cap has us at $18M which is close to what Jurecki is reporting.
Over the Cap also has the Cardinals estimated for about $7M for the rookie pool:
https://overthecap.com/draft/
So that would leave the Cardinals with about $10-11M to spend on free agents.
Which will be bargain basement FAs at this point.
