I'm a uncle's monkey??
Just going by what we have as a current depth chart, this does not take into account any possible trades going forward which will probably happen (i.e. trading Shelton), please correct me where I am wrong on the current player list, I am sure I'm gonna list someone who isnt currently part of the team...
Offense:
QB - Kurt Warner, Josh McCown, John Navarre, Shaun King
XWR - Anquan Boldin, Karl Williams
ZWE - Bryant Johnson, Lawrence Hamilton
HWR - Larry Fitzgerald, Reggie Newhouse
TE - Eric Edwards, Bobby Blizzard
RB - Marcell Shipp, Troy Hambrick, Damian Anderson, Josh Scobey
FB - James Hodgins, Obafemi Ayanbadejo
LT - Leonard Davis, LJ Shelton
RT - Oliver Ross, Anthony Clement
LG - Reggie Wells, Cameron Spikes
RG - Jeremy Bridges, Rolando Cantu
C - Alex Stepanovich, Nick Leckey
QB is set right now unless your giving up on McCown which I dont think the organization is ready to do yet, so dont expect anyone grabbed here either free agent or draft.
WR also very set, With Fitz, Quan, & BJ, plus veteran help of Karl Williams and rookie Newhouse, might see a very late round pick of WR but highly doubt this.
TE is defintly a team need, I would like to see us sign Ituli Mili here.
RB expect to pick someone up vis free agency or draft, more likely draft at this late point in the game unless the Shelton for Henry deal gets revived.
FB is good with Hodgins and Ayanbedajo.
O-line according to Green is set, wouldnt be too suprised to see a 3rd rounder or a 2nd day pick going for another Guard. I expect either Shelton or Clement to be gone, meaning the rookie Alan Rueber moves up the depth chart probably.
So only real need would be RB on the offensive side of the ball.
Defense:
LDE - Chike Okeafor, Peppi Zellner, Kyle Vanden Bosch
NT - Russell Davis, Wendell Bryant
UT - Darnell Dockett, Ross Kodziej
RDE - Bertrand Berry, Calvin Pace, Kenny King
SLB - Karlos Dansby, Levar Woods
MLB - Gerald Hayes, Leon Jones
WLB - James Darling, Ray Thompson
LCB - Renaldo Hill, ???
RCB - David Macklin, Tobert Tate
SS - Adrian Wilson, Michael Stone
FS - Ifeanya Ohalete, Quentin Harris
DE - With Okeafor and Berry have 2 solid ends, and lots of relief players backing them up, Figure 2 of the 4 backups may not come back next year, King I think comes back just because he can be used in almost all 4 positions, wether KVB or Zellner come back depends on 2 things, #1 did Calvin Pace listen to DG and do MAJOR weight room training and will he come in hungry this year, if not I expect Pace to be cut leaving the running between Zellner and KVB. Highly doubt any more FA or 1st day picks
DT - Dockett is the man! Davis is servicable, could see us picking up another DT 1st day of the draft 2nd or 3rd round.
LB - Not sure whats going on with Raynoch Thompson, Is he going to be traded, cut, or will he come back hungry and pissed, much like Pace alot will depend on what happens in the off season work outs on where we are with our LB core. Don't think we necissarily need a LB but if all the blue chip CB & RB are gone when we pick #8 and Derrick Johnson is available certainly couldnt complain about taking BPA, however this really isnt a big need so more likely a 2nd day pick.
Safety - Wilson and Ohalete, with the backups are decent, not great, but decent, no real need to search for a player here.
CB - This to me is the biggest team need right now, Renaldo Hill may very well be gone and even if he isnt, I dont think he really is a #1 CB. Very solid #2 and great nickle back, but not a shut down corner. To me this is almost a foregone conclusion that we should and will take a CB with the #8 pick unless all the CB DG likes are gone at #8.
Recap:
TE - Sign Ituli Mili
#8 Pick - CB, Pac-man Jones or Antrel Rolle
#40 Pick - RB, JJ Arrington or Ciatrik Fason
2 3rd rounders - DT & maybe another CB or a Guard.
Thats just how I see it.
