I would like to see:

Tim Rattay -resigned to be our 3rd string QB

Rodney Bailey - resigned to be our backup NT/DE in a 3-4.

Joe Tafoya -looks like he will resign, he is depth at DE & OLB

Matt Ware - resigned to compete in camp as CB/FS

I figured this gives a good idea of where we are thin on the current roster.

OT, CB, DE are glaring needs.

Where does this come from?

There are guys on this list that are untendered RFA's, who are out of the picture... unless they've re-signed?????

The Cards declined to tender offers to five other restricted players: linebacker Darryl Blackstock, tight end Tim Euhus, defensive end Bo Schobel and receivers Jerheme Urban and Ahmad Merritt. Blackstock has been the most disappointing, never finding a role despite being a third-round pick in 2005. (For a complete Cardinals free-agent rundown, click here.)

Euhus, Urban and Merritt are gone.

Updated. Thanks

By the way; Pendy described Travis Laboy as a rush end in his nickel package. As such, and if so, we are still short one 260 lb. 3-4 outside LB to replace Pace and backup Okeafor and Berry.

He said "rush end in the nickel to start things off" and "Berrys Backup" in the podcast.

I love the Blackstock quote about "despite being a 3rd rounder." Ummmm.... More disappointing than Blackstock, of course, was Busta Davis. Regardless of who we get this year I sure hope we really, really, evaluate a candidate for LB in the 3rd if that's what we end up drafting.

To be fair, The Huddle Report had Buster Davis rated pretty highly. At least on their value chart. I agree with your point though. We need to hit on our third rounders.

Sean Morey had to be released. When Fitz's contract finally goes through he is expected to be resigned. Per Urban's blog

2nd day of the offseason program and we still dont have the top 51 players to count against the cap. That is just odd. The average player count on the other 31 teams is 63 players and we only have 49. That does not install faith in the depth we will end up with in the upcoming season or the level of competition as of right now.

After reviewing that list I am not so pessimistic.

We lost one starter from the previous year: Calvin Pace

The "depth" we have lost were mostly undrafted free agents and low round picks. I don't think we really lost anyone who could be considered "irreplaceable". In fact none of the players who were not tendered or unsigned had shown even a glimpse of being starter material or even a comptetent replacement in the event of a serious injury.

One odd thing is that there are a lot of TE's on the roster. Tackle and Guard are both ridiculously thin. We absolutely need another back up tackle and another back up guard, hopefully a young player to groom for future contributions.

After the draft and filling out the roster, I think we are in pretty decent shape.

My confidence level in the depth is even lower when you put it like that.

Well considering our depth stunk last year and we are going to have to replace those UDFA's and Low round picks with more UDFA's and Low Round picks.

I believe you are right. I give credit where it is due. I am sure the front office realizes how many they have on the roster, who they can sign, who they want to sign and who is available. We are not disclosing anything to them they are not aware of. Because a team has 63 players under contract does not mean they have the 63 they want...I am very cool with the way they are going about their business and am quite sure they will be able to field a team!!

Field a team sure but what kind of team. I am pretty happy for the most part when it comes to the starters but if any one can look at the depth chart right now and be even remotely happy with the way below average depth and competition, and below average is being kind, then your head is firmly implanted in the sand or you know of some new miracle drug the team is taking that helps them avoid injuries.

Wiz main mantra is competition and depth. We are currently hurting big time in both departments, that is not even debatable at this point in time. Competition is the cornerstone of good offseason programs and training camps.

What's the name of the WR that looks like Fitz?

We got a kick out of him in Flag last year

You might want to refer to your rant in about three weeks and after the draft, as you might rethink your position.

Did you, by the way add to the 17 or 18 pages of posts last year when the team signed Gandy? Just curious.
