We're not picking first that's for sure. So will we pick Bagley, Bamba, or Young, at 3-4?

I swing for the fences and go either Bamba or Young. Those guys, if they hit their prime peak could be game changers at important positions.

Last year was easy... I wanted us to pick fourth to minimize the chances we'd draft Fultz or Ball. Three would have been okay but there was still a risk one of them had fallen there. This year I only fear Young and I'd rather not pick Doncic over a big but if I can live with it if Igor and McD conclude he's the right choice. If we pick second, and Ayton is gone, I'd like us to trade down if we could wind up with Bamba and Sexton. Close to impossible, of course.

Just take the pick!

You said that right JC. They are the LAST team I want to leap frog us!

Cleveland is the last team I want to see leapfrog us. They've been to 3 straight NBA finals and so long as Lebron is there, they're the top team in the East. Adding Ayton should be enough to keep them from slipping enough that Boston would become the favorite in the East.

Yeah but Philly could dominate for the next decade with a top 2 pick out of this draft.

Here's the way I see it: We have a LOT of needs at this point. A pick at #1 or #2 will address either a) strong big man presence in the middle or b) (probably) playmaker/versatility on the entire floor. What those picks do NOT do is address probably our single biggest problem--defense.

That opens the door for 3 or 4. If we get 3 or 4, we could be looking at either a) a possibly transcendant passer, even with height issues, or b) a strong defensive presence that we sorely need.

So right now, regardless of what pick we get, we are in a very good spot. We are guaranteed a scoring big man, a hybrid point guard/point forward, a high-level passer/floor general or a LOOOOONG defensive rim stopper (with development of course).

Regardless, we're sitting pretty.

EDIT: I like Bagley, but I'm not sure he's a fit at any of the top 4 spots for us.

Did they always have Lottery Prospects AT the lottery? Don’t remember that in the past.

That's if Fultz can get his head right and Embiid can stay healthy, also Simmons is able to add a jump shot. I'm not that worried about Philly. They're a good young team but all of their players have big question marks surrounding them. Odds are one of them won't be that good. They're also least likely to take Ayton, if they kept the pick. If Philly gets #1 and Suns get #2, I like the Suns odds of landing Ayton.

Well thats true. Wasn't thinking that...unless Philly trades down.

Until I see otherwise, I can't discount our new Coach saying, "You chose me to coach. I want my guy first."

Just as, yes, happened with Colangelo/MacLeod/Adams.

What can we offer them that would entice them to do that, especially if a team with say 3 wants to move up too?

Gotta figure if they win the lotto and hold on to their pick, they’re likely looking at Doncic or Young, right? Get one more perimeter playmaker?

Every indication Igor will be a team player working with the talent McDonough gives him.

Bilas of ESPN has Trae Young at #8 and Michael Porter at #9 on their board.

If it goes that way... these players are going lower than originally thought.

ESPN banner at the bottom of the screen: the Suns have never drafted number 1.

Let's change that today.
