If I were Bowles I wouldn't be making any plans that has DWash involved in playing LB this year. He's already gone for 4 games and will probably get another 6-8 games for the domestic incident so he is useless this season. The guy really needs to get some help before he goes to jail although who was the WR who hit a guy with his car in Florida and killed him and never spent a day in jail. I guess if you have the force of the NFL behind you money can always grease the wheel.

Bingo!!!

D-Wash will get extra time provided he's convicted or reaches a settlement with the alleged victim; however, it won't be 6-8 additional games.

He was initially suspended under the substance abuse policy, which is an automatic four-game suspension for the first offense. The personal conduct policy is a different suspension all together and does not take into consideration substance abuse. Most likely, he'll get an additional one-to-four games since he'd technically be a first-time offender. Also, D-Wash can appeal a personal conduct policy suspension and the NFLPA would defend him that could minimize the duration of the suspension given on which everyone seems to be speculating. This was discussed by Ring and MJ on XTRA 910 on Friday.

Put it to you this way. Ben Roethlisberger got four game for raping a chick. D-Wash most likely won't exceed that with the next suspension.

Go and read the document I posted from the NFLPA.

He's in stage III of the substance abuse program. There is an option that behavior can be a condition of his treatment plan. We do not know what is in his plan, but, if it is, he could get a year suspension, no matter what happens legally.

Ring and MJ don't know DW's stage III plan.

I get what you are saying when it comes to life off the message board, but when posting on here a little common courtesy goes a long way. Skkorp wanted it to be a clean board for the most part - without a lot of the crudeness, cussing, and insults found elsewhere online.

You are right. I agree. "I was hacked."

I didn't see anything about behavior as it relates to personal conduct in the Stage III section nor did I find any source online that shows D-Wash is in Stage III of the treatment plan for that matter.

Again, personal conduct and substance abuse are two separate issues in the eyes of the league and NFLPA, unless this incident was the result of drug or alcohol abuse (i.e. Washington was drunk when he struck her). This has been a talking point for quite some time. Of course, knowing Goddell, he will use it as a talking point if it comes down to a suspension under the PCP.

If you think of the list of players that were suspended for eight or more games in the league, the punishments were for crimes such as homicide, sexual assault, or bounties. Players that received more than four games under the personal conduct policy (excluding the Bountygate players) were guys like Dante Stallworth, Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, and Chris Henry; all of whom had multiple felonies and were well-known malcontents in the NFL. D-Wash, at this point, does not have that kind of reputation.

That being said, I find it hard to believe D-Wash will be out for more than eight games total.

Michael Vick and Plaxico Burress. They each got locked up and each were suspended for unspecified lengths. If Wash is locked up, it's very possible that he gets a similar punishment.

but what's really going to happen is she's gonna come out and admit it was an extortion plan that her new boyfriend came up with. Charges are dropped against DW and filed against her and her bf. DWash has his best season by far from when he returns from his substance abuse suspension. He's named to his first All-Pro roster and helps lead a stingy Cards defense to the Superbowl. Ultimately beating the Broncos 28-13. And then I wake up to a text from a friend saying that Washington was suspended a full season and the Cardinals cut him, causing a significant setback for this defense

1) I think the most likely legal outcome in this case is a settlement, and I highly doubt D-Wash spends a day in jail. Community service and a fine, most likely. Star treatment.

2) Vick was busted for dog fighting/killing. Plax brought a loaded gun to a night club and shot himself in the leg (technically, he only got a four-game suspension). I'm not minimizing the impact DV has on society when I say what Wash is gonna experience is rather benign by comparison. And that's considering the prior drug suspension.

I actually thought Vick was the perfect comparison to DWash. Since they both got in trouble for pot prior to their big screw ups. And dogfighting (class 5 felony) isn't as serious a crime as aggravated assault (class 3 felony). Regardless of personal feelings for what was done to the poor dogs. If the reports are true though, and Washington choked the mother of his daughter, while he was holding his daughter, it's VERY disturbing in itself. I hope the "facts", as we have heard them, are wrong. But considering the damage control (or more specifically, the lack of) from his representatives, it's looking less likely by the day

The "facts" beyond the physical injury are subject to debate. D-Wash's lawyer could argue that he did not "choke" her, but grabed her by the neck while warding off an attack and was simply protecting the baby and himself.

From that stand point, yes, I could see that. But that is only half of it. The second part falls on him. He took her phone and instigated part two when she wanted her property back. he then pushed her down causing the broken collar bone.

Are they both to blame then? Maybe But again, I am completely speculating at this point and I do not know all the fact, I only know what the police reports states.

She left the baby, chased him, threw a pot at him, repeatedly tried to force her way into his car. Those are the actions of an angry person, not a person in fear.

There is so much circumstantial evidence in this case going around that it's making my head spin. The only thing I'm sure of is that there was an altercation between the woman and D-Wash. After that, it's fuzzy.

I'm curious to see how this all unfolds.

fwiw, Arizona law is that the victim in a domestic abuse case cannot drop the charges under any circumstances. This was done to eliminate the abused from being pressured by their abuser to "drop it or else". This is up to the courts now; she can be uncooperative if she wants, but she can't have the charges dropped.

While I generally agree with you, some people get angry and react as such when they are afraid.

Yep. Clearly her "fight or flight" instinct is tilted in one particular direction.
