If it's a rate, it shouldn't matter how many total snaps there were, no? It's a percentage basis.

The stat I quoted was about total number of pressures. For pressure rating we are 39.2% which is 11th best in the league. I may have been exaggerating when I said top 5, but overall I still do believe we had a better OL performance than all but 9 teams.

I'll list out the worse OL performances for dramatic effect.

At the risk of Sanders rage, I do worry about the Cardinals ability to overcome any losses in top of all of the improvements needed. Losing the ILB coach, DL and OL coach seems like a lot of transition for an already small coaching staff.

It's very chicken or the egg. The NFL is ripe with terrible hires so this idea that we lose someone means they are peak just isn't based in reality.

Who knows what connection Gannon has built in the NFL through the years (hires are often results of connections), but a guess on a replacement could be Roy Istvan. He worked along with Gannon in Philadelphia as their assistant offensive line coach and is currently in the same position with the Browns – two of the best offensive lines in the NFL.

The Lions’ offensive line coach, Hank Fraley, also has a prior working relationship with Gannon, but that guess seems a little more far-fetched. Assistant coaches switched to identical roles with other teams all the time, though, and the Cards’ assistant general manager, Dave Sears, must know Fraley well and be able to recommend him.

A popular move is from tight end coach to offensive line coach (Klayton Adams took that road several years ago, for example), so I thought about Jason Michael. He was on the same staff as Gannon in both Indy and Philadelphia and even have a past as a tight end coach with the Cardinals.

I don’t know. It is guesses drawn directly from behind me. I just think it is fun to speculate.

Chris Cook has been the assistant for the last 2 years. He knows the scheme, he's learned from Klayton. Give him the chance to step up.

i dont think the o-line was wretched

but i think it was middle third of the NFL overall - and not helped by losing a 2 of the starters in the first 5 weeks of the season. Probably a far better run blocking team that pass pro (looking at you Isiah Adams).

i think Klayton's hire speaks to the NFLs appreciation for the Cards innovative run schemes

I disagree the line was wretched. I do agree with was inflated due to the high volume rush attack. I don’t know how much input Adams had in the run game design or in game adjustments. I liked that they hired Frye quickly and now can get to work.
