If we win tonight and beat Dallas things may really turn because the Jazz will be most likely in a foul mood going into Dallas Wednesday after losing tonight and (most likely) losing at New Orleans Sunday. If the Jazz were able to win that one in Dallas we would be within 1 game of the Mavs with a win at New Orleans in what would be on paper the toughest game left.

best case scenario for suns......worst case for mavs. I think the mavs will at the very least go .500 at home for the rest of the year regardless of the opponent. but who knows. they don't really deserve to be a playoff team anyway IMO. the lakers will sweep the first round....maybe lose one game at most.

didnt dallas just get howard back?

and we are out with amare, of course.

and LB could be back anytime soon.

i dont know how much a mavs team with howard will be improved.
well the mavs won 2 in a row with howard coming back from injury. and he outplayed jason terry both of those games. tonight against a lottery team jason terry was a no show...eventhough he played. josh howard did not play...and dirk's 35 points were not enough. howard probably won't play sunday either.

If we win out you will have to win 3 of the remaining 5 games at home and beat New Orleans on the road. If you lose at New Orleans you have to win 4 of 5 at home, with the one loss being to Phoenix in this scenario. Now this is assuming we win out, but it's not so impossible to imagine if we can get a win Sunday.

If....I don't know if (being a very strong word) the suns can beat dallas and N.O. on the road. I'll tell you that (with my mavericks glasses off) that the mavs have about a 5% chance of beating the hornets on the road. I'd say the suns chances aren't much better....assuming the suns game at N.O. is on the road no? The suns can beat the mavs though...but I thought they would have beat them with ease in the palace with their season on the ropes a couple weeks back. these top 8 teams are tough to beat in their home arena. the mavs are a different team at home usually.

but despite that they still consistently lose at home in close games to teams like the lakers. so the mavs are done....and sorry me speaking realistically here....so are the suns. neither team is what they once were. too bad the mavs are wasting a brilliant year that dirk is having.

Well someone has to get that 8th spot though, Suns, Mavs, or Jazz and the Jazz have an incredibly tough schedule especially after losing at home to the Wolves tonight.
