Because we want/need him here?

Thats what my thought is. His very well could be the same, his response was just as bad as a movie preview that just shows the title.

Dan Majerle isn't made to be a headcoach. He ends up on celebrity sites drinking with 19 year old girls. You want him to be the coach of your team? Much less a bad rebuilding team?

Yep, that was pretty much my reaction. His value to the Suns is that he's good at fraternizing with the players and provides a connection to their last contending era. He's useless to anyone else.

Love Thunder Dan but does he really need this? Hes got a cush job, is loved like a favorite son in PHX, and gets to drink like a fish with no recourse.

That changes with Philly fan and being the head man. Quality of life Dan. Think about it.

Well, from what I hear, Majerle is the one being given credit for the turnaround in the defense, and development of Robin Lopez.

I agree though, he has it made in Phoenix and I don't know why he would want to go to Philly.

You reminded me of twenty years ago when Thunder Dan was playing.

One of my sons (a young teenager then) and I arrived early for a game and Dan was on the floor before the final shoot-around.

Because Majerle was my son's favorite player, I called to Dan (who was by himself) and asked if he could come over and say 'hi' to my son.

#9 started heading over, saw two teenage girls standing in a different direction on the other side and started making a b-line for them.

You could have heard me call out, "DAN" a mile away. He sheepishly changed direction and continued on over to us.

So he's still chasing 19 year old girls, huh?

A novelty Assistant Coach, sure.

The Chief On-court Operating Officer? The management figurehead? Not a chance.

Yea If I were him I would stay put for now. But I have heard him say he would love a chance to be a HC someday...

Hope I am wrong but I think he would crash N burn.
