Another thing to consider when assessing Dansby's value, compared to Suggs, is that KD never has had the benefit of having superstars playing around him and, despite being a focal point of the offense, has still put up some top notch numbers. AW is the only legit pro bowl talent that KD has played with while, not taking anything away from Suggs ability, he's had the likes of Lewis, McCallister, Reed,Scott, Gregg(i know Gregg isn't a superstar but he was a top NT until injured),and other top players on the defense that have been the focal point throughout his career.

Just so we are clear, your good with people using that logic in a Fitz vs. Andre Johnson debate then? Or a Ohio State player versus an Ohio player?

You can also use the oppsoite logic as well. Dansby has inflated stats because there are no other playmakers taking plays away from him, versus Suggs who has to get his own with so many other playmakers taking stats away from him.

In the end both ways of thinking has just as valid of an arguement as the other, or just as much of a fallacy as the other, which ever way you look at it. It all comes down to individual skill, just like scouts have to do when scouting college players or future free agents.

i have no prtoblem with people using that logic because i think it's a big factor. No doubt talent is a key to anything but the people around you also makes a difference. Example, at OSU, during his sophomore year, Andy Katzenmoyer was an all-world tackling machine. He had one of the best years i've seen a LB have at OSU whuile winning the Butkus and Jack Lambert awards. He also had 2 DT's clogging up the OL and, being only a soph, wasn't really the focal point of the offense in the beginning. Then his junior year, he was still a great player, talentwise, but his DT's were gone and teams schemed away from him so his production was down.
