So with that my guestimate as to what he was offered was 6 years 48 mill, 18to 20 mill gauranteed.

That's more than appropriate for Dansby.

Appropriate maybe, but noway he was going to sign that. He was sitting on the F-tag for another year, so he was already paid about 18 mil for the last two years.

Then he figues he could get another large signing bonus this year. Even if he got 5 mil bonus and a 3 mil salary next year he got 30 mil over 3 years. If the cards were willing to pay 25 or 26 mil over 3 years, I would have thought they could of had a 5 or 6 year deal done 2 years ago.

It is proven many times over that ILB in the 3-4 system is the easiest position to fill via the draft.

Well that's not exactly true. If it were the Cards wouldn't be so thin at that position.

What is proven is that it is the easiest position for a rookie to come in and have a major impact right away. But the guy must have the skills. Getting that guy with the skills in the draft is not that easy.

Just look at the depth thread were Cbus and I were talking about all the whiffs the Cards have had drafting linebackers.

Exactly. If Dansby is let go, we would be so thin at the position that it wouldn't even be funny. We have Beisel who is awful, Hayes who cannot cover anyone and wears down or gets injured nearly every season and then Walker who is about as unproven as they come. I personally think Dansby is better than Bart Scott and is also arguably the most important position on our defense. We will be shedding a lot of money if Okeafor and Berry both leave and with the possible retirement of Kurt, that is a ton of money that can go towards Dansby.

I honestly think we should look at this situation on a different basis than "oh, he wants pass rusher money but isn't a pass rusher." He is an excellent player at what will undoubtedly become our weakest position after he leaves, what he brings to the table and how big of a part he plays in our defense. Pay the man.

I heard on the Bickley & MJ show 2day with their weekly AW spot that #24 says he's likely gone because of the $$$ he is seeking. The reasons AW said were pretty much what everyone sees: our situation with numerous other players saying it would cause serious problems done the road to the franchise. Wilson is also Los' closest friend on the team.

A lot of us felt that when he fired agents and turned down a very generous offer from the Cardinals last offseason that he'd gone after the 2009 season. Nothing I've seen since has changed my opinion on that.

Karlos is a solid 3-down linebacker but he is NOT irreplaceable on the level of a Fitz or Boldin. He is not in the elite category with Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis IMO. Sadly I suspect he hits the free agent market. Maybe he doesn't get what he's looking forward and gets re-signed. We'll see.

Well if the cap isn't an issue and we have a ton of revenue rolling in from the new stadium and our recent success, I don't see what the problem is.

Maybe Mr. B had a lot of money invested in bank stocks.

With the makeup of the team right now I would take Dansby over Boldin without hesitation.

Its obvious to me Coach Davis has built our whole defense around the play and leadership of Dansby ,who was playing with two seperated shoulders for at least 3 games and the one shoulder longer.

Players who play through the pain are key in todays game Yes I saw a few missed tackles in the saints game by Karlos.

I just woner what the NEW plan and leadership & team leader in tackles. will come from to keep the continuance of the last two years winning mindset?Dockett without a new giant contract isn't the happy guy to pick or A-Dub who is a major weak link in our pass defense.

Something MAJOR has to be added to this defense.Leadership and tackles.Hate to hear A-Dub says he KNOWS Dansby is gone.Sounds like its gone too far to even save the situation.

Im dying to see us put a CHAMPIONSHP defense on the field next year.I see how Vilma turned the saints around plus about 5 other big moves to go with it.Is Graves up to THIS?
