The Suns basically dominated this game until Robinson became unstoppable. So it's not really that amazing.

Ever notice that the Suns have trouble with the smaller athletic PGs. Robinson is listed as a PG on the Knicks roster. The Suns most always give them a free lane to the basket.

He wasn't saying we should be at a certain level at this point, just that we still have room to get better which is great actually.

Can't argue with u about that. I just thought we should have dominated the Knicks. We have the potential to be better, maybe a lot better. With 2/3 of the season left, let's see how it develops.

Suns were playing good and in control until Robinson got 10 layups. With the exception of the 3pt shooting I thought they Knicks played good, good effort and physical.

JR is a great pickup. He was still feeling his way through but has been effective despite looking a little uncomfortable.

agreed. especially when the other team is guarding him with Lee (in severe foul trouble) or Harrington. no reason for him not to see the ball, especially when you consider that he is surrounded on the perimeter by J rich, Nash, and Barnes

On the P/R in the 4th Amare was getting switched and guarded by Robinson of all players. Amare really needs to work on his post up game. Sealing players and getting yourself a chance to get the ball is a skill he still needs.
They brought in JRich to run that pick and roll at the end and was able to post up the little guy no problem.

It is only the first game at full strength. This team has some nice pieces that I think have a chance to mesh well and really improve in the next month. That trade was almost addition by subtraction. We get a more talented starter at the 2 and free up more minutes in the middle of the bench.

Just watched the game. DVR'ed it. Suns looked good tonight, no real complaints. Lots of sharing. Shaq was working well with the face pace a la Kareem. Won my first bet, didn't seem to risky to me. Should placed some real money on it. I probably would have gone money line though and fed myself.
Does anyone else hate Harrington as much as me? I can't stand to look at the guy, I wish the cameras would blur out his nasty head. He needs a bigger head band. All those wrinkles and grooves in his head and perhaps a nice overbite going on?

For those that have this game recorded....look at D'Antoni as he walks off the court. He yells "dang it" or "damn it". He wanted this game bad. Naaaa...there is no animosity. lol.

PS. Amare has been a beast since all the criticism. I hope he keeps it up. Amare & Shaq are 2 of the most dominant C/F combos in the league right now.

It is not hard to tell why Nate was such a problem. Porter decided to challenge the three point shots and it worked - giving up 5 of 37 three point attempts. But to spread the floor like that made it hard to stop penitration. Like every other team in the NBA, the Knicks would set picks so they could isolation Robinson on Nash.

Dragic should evolve into a very good on the ball defender, but moving from the Adriadic League to the NBA was going to be a challenge beyond just the rules. I was skeptical of his immediate impact, but he should fit into the Suns newly revived up tempo game.

I couldn't help but laugh when D'Antoni was doing his usual, "Come on, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go" "coaching".
Man, it feels so good to be "the other team".

Noticed Nash and Amare got into a yelling match late in the game. Well, mostly Nash yelling at him since Amare was trying to walk away and Nash kept getting in his face. It was right after that sequence where Nash kept trying to get Amare to move so he could pass him the ball, and Amare wouldn’t budge (I think he had Nate Robinson guarding him).

I haven’t watched the replay, but is it just me or did the game not seem so faced paced? Not that many fast break points.

It was funny when they interviewed sarver before the game. The mention of DA just wiped any kind of smile off his face, like he was sucking on a bad lemon. He couldnt even get his mouth to smile even a little,and his face appeared to turn red. Makes me think some real bullcrap went on last year.

The suns beat the knicks, but DA outcoached Porter even to be in the game late. And it took 2 nash daggers and shaq hitting 5 foul shots to save Porter from total embarrassment. The suns continue to be scortched from the guard position, even after Bell and Diaw left. this knicks team had no inside game at all, so it was easy to defend them. Good thing the knicks traded Randolph(23/11) before this game, the suns probably lose it if he is there.

On the positive side, JRich is going to get more involved, his contributions will continue to increase.

With the suns foul prone interior, it is a good strategy. Its what the hornets did with CP3, what the nets did with Devin Harris, and what the mavs did with JJ freakin Barea, hilarious, the dude must be 5'5" going inside on the suns. Watching nate just freeze our bigs for shots inside at 5'7" was comical as well. you can blame nash, but that doesnt happen to the celtics with eddie house at the PG, and he's a much worse defender than nash.

Agreed, Robinson was a problem mainly on a switch, when he was isolated on one of the suns bigs. to think the suns gave away Robinson, rondo, and Fernandez but cant find a backup PG ... I suppose blind pigs sometimes dont find any acorns.

I saw that but I wouldn't call it a yelling match exactly. It was an animated discussion for sure. Amare wasn't doing any yelling. Nash wants to win in the worst way and it shows.
A guy with the basketball IQ of Nash has to be frustrated with Amare at times. Nash was trying to get him the ball and Amare was not making himself available. Like I said in an earlier post Amare need to develop some postup skills. He can't even post up Nate Robinson. Amare wanted him to lob it but Nash can't do that with Harrington in his face.

This is my biggest problem with the D'Antoni (GM) era. The Draft.

People can bitch about Sarver but if GM D'Antoni said to draft Rodriguez or Rondo we would have them now.

Robinson I don't mind losing. We got Kurt Thomas who we should not have traded later.

Yeah I recall that sequence, Robinson fronting amare and amare couldnt make himself available. I dont know about amare sometimes, I dont know if he's stupid or stubborn or a little of both. The suns TO's going into the post have something to do with the bigs moving well down there. Where is the big man coach? standing around doesnt cut it, they gotta move to get the best position.

Maybe because when youre guarded by Nash his teammate has to switch since he cant get over in time?
