Frank Miller's Daredevil!

Guillermo Del Toro interested in 'Daredevil 2'?
Monday, March 8th, 2004
Source: NewsAskew

According to Anime To Film News in the UK is reporting that Blade 2 / Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro is interested in directing Daredevil II: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again is the critically acclaimed comic by writer Frank Miller and Artist David Mazzucchelli. This superhero/horror story focuses on the fall from grace of Matt Murdock's secret identity. Like the original story, 90 percent of the film will feature DD without his costume, but rather he will be fighting evil in his civilian clothes. Ben Affleck is reported to be interested in returning as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, as long as project takes a darker and slicker tone.

The first movie sucked ass.....so I am not sure what there is to get excited about.

The only super hero movie sequal that out did the first one is X-men 2 IMO.....

It looks like Spiderman 2 might do that as well.

Superman 2 can also be argued for.

And I personally liked Batman Returns more than the original.

And hopes are high for Spider-Man 2 and Hulk 2.

As a huge comic geek, I was just thrilled to see Daredevil on the big screen. It wasn't the best, but it was far from the worst. :D

Superman 2 is one of the greatest movies of all time.

"So this is the planet Hooston?" - General Zod.

Prez: Oh God.
Zod: No, Zod.

Classic movie - abolustely classic!

I'm looking forward to Hellboy. It's been a good time to be a geek lately.

That'd be cool. That's a pretty recent storyline.

It's also be cool if they include the current storyline about how kingpin's departure from NT City creates a "void" that a number of criminal-types try to fill. daredevil loses it and goes on a pretty violent "cleansing" of the city, proclaiming himself the new Kingpin of Hell's Kitchen. Woe to those who try and commit a crime in his backyard.

I'm very much looking forward to this as well. Looks really good.

As to Daredevil 2 and Hulk 2? GAG ME WITH A FRICKIN' SPOON!!! These movies sucked major monkey muck, and would be an utter waste, IMO. I mean, I'm no big comic book guy, but I have lots of friends who are that STILL hated these things!!!

Strange, because Hulk tried really bad NOT to be a "comic book movie". My problem with it was really around the special effects, which I thought were absolutely terrible. But there was a certain amount of interesting pathos in the characters and the direction, thanks to Ang Lee.

Mmm, I wasn't saying the movies were too 'comic book', but that I thought they were bad. Some people like to say if you don't know the comic books, then you won't 'get' it. That's the only reason I mentioned my comic book friends not liking them.

The thing about comic book sequels is that a lot of times they SHOULD be better than the original because they aren't tied to the "origin" story.

Just because the Hulk and DD movies sucked, doesn't mean the characters suck.

Not at all...but if the Hulk is done in the same fashion by the same director (crappy animation, lousy scenes, okay acting) I still won't want to see it...and if Daredevil doesn't replace Affleck and fix the stupid script process, I won't want to see it either.

Completely new productions as sequels? I can dig that. Problem is, I don't see it happening.

I think Affleck has already bowd out of DD2. And, I'm not saying this to try and convince you, but as a comic book geek (I try to get all of the super-hero movies on DVD), after a rewatch of the Hulk I liked it better. I think it's a better movie when you go into it knowing what to expect.

But, Yeah, for the most part DD sucked balls and the CGC Hulk was pretty awful.

But overall, as was previously stated, it's been good to be a geek lately.

Yeah, see, we were prepared for Hulk disappointment going in...so we weren't 'disappointed', so-to-speak. It looked cheesy in preview, and it was on film. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.

Overall, though, I agree with your statement...it's a good time to be a geek. Love all these kinds of movies coming out. Bring on Hellboy!!!

No Batman sequel could ever top the original Batman with Michael Keaton...there is just no way...

More than expecting the cheesey CGI (sort of like a "Clash of the Titans" for the new millenium), I meant expecting the pacing and intended focus of the movie. At least, I think that's why I enjoyed it more the second time around.

Bring on Hellboy
Bring on The Punisher
Bring on Spider-Man 2
Bring on X3
Bring on Batman Begins
Bring on Ghost Rider
Bring on the Fantastic Four
Bring on Constantine
Bring on Superman
Bring on Namor
Bring on Captain America

COMIC BOOK GEEKS UNITE!!!

I think Batman Begins might rival it, in fact, I think it probably will, IMO... (if for no other reason than Bale won't be wearing such a heavy suit).

Yeah, there are trailers already going about the Punisher, which to me doesn't look that good.
