I'm surprised we didn't keep him. He got a 1 year $1.5 mill deal.

Who had Darren Felks getting a FA deal ahead of Michael Floyd? He totally screwed up his future this year...

Thus WR market was wild. He could have gotten $15M guaranteed...

Good luck big guy. Another piece to the comp pick equation.

It's time for Troy to step up and I like Momah and I bet we draft a TE this year.

Its going to be a whole new team next season..

I'm waiting for the Cardinals to sign some players and of course the draft but I'm not getting any warm, fuzzy feelings about the process as more and more players leave.

As of right now the defense is going to be fairly young and have a lot of inexperienced backups.Big need for a CB across from Peterson.DLine has only Mauro and Cory Peters who started more than 1 game last year.Gunter,Xavier Williams,Stinson and wasted pick Nkemdiche all must step up.Safety is okay but not great.
Offense
Very very thin at RB,TE has Gresham,Niklas,Valles and Momah
WR-plenty guys fighting for time behind Fitz,Nelso and the Browns,
OL-Need another OG to battle with Toner,Kaleb Johnson and Wetzel.
QB-still need QB for future

This is dumb. The defense will feature a ton of veterans (guys at least on their second contract) in Corey Peters, Dansby, Matthieu, Bethea, Mauro, Bethel (maybe/probably), Peterson, Branch and Jones. That's 9 starters or major contributors without counting 3rd year players.

The offense is going to be a problem again, I think.

Fells is no youngster, he's 30 years old and just played in his 3rd season. He had some moments but are the Cards REALLY going to miss his 154 yards and 1 TD from last year? I know he's a pretty good blocker but I don't know that he is a big factor even considering the lack of usage of the TE in BA's system.

I was pointing out about not a lot of starting depth behind the starters.Sure a lot of guys who have been around a couple of years but not been starters. As for being major contributors we might have to seen.So quit being a smartass just because you disagree. You see multiple contributors others might see unproven depth.

If peeps are healthy I see no way this offense is a problem. If BA learned his lesson in attacking more short which helped the Oline & protecting Palmer, this O can roll.

My biggest concern is the big hole left by the big tree man & CB2

Troy Nicklas just breathed a sigh of relief

...and cracked a rib in the process. Out 6-8 weeks.

If you're suggesting the BA change the playbook and have everybody run short to intermediate routes, well that ain't going to happen. CP needs to take what is there instead of just chucking it deep every time. I mean it's ok to take a shot now and then, but a sustained drive lets the D rest and keeps them fresh.

There are several top rated CBs who could be on the board at 13.Same can said for D-Line.I think Cards can get a good player at either spot.Campbell leaves a big hole which Nmedichke (SP) or Gunter or top pick can try to fill

Big make or break year for Niklas.Hope he can stay healthy and get a real chance to show what he can do.
There's no make or "break" year for him in AZ IMO. Pardon the pun.

IMO he will be on another roster in 2018 barring a miracle from the man above. 8 career receptions rarely gets a highly drafted skill set player a 2nd contract on any team

I'm not saying change the playbook Mikey. But if you think the Cards didn't adjust that offense slightly & or cement Palmer to throw shorter the 2nd half of 2016 we both were watching different games.

It happened & I'm saying to stick with it. BA has even said during the combine that his job is to protect Palmer more from the beating he took during the 2016 season.

That is the only one I'm really concerned about. I never thought he was starting CB material and Bethel has done nothing to prove me wrong. It would be a huge mistake going into the season with Bethel/Williams as your only options opposite of PP.

I'm still hoping they can bring in a Veteran FA #2 CB who is decent. I'm not talking a superstar but a dependable #2. Plus I would like to see them draft a CB during the first two days of the draft. As well as a safety or two later in the draft.

Offense was a problem last year (24th in DVOA, 27th in Passing DVOA, 14th in rusing DVOA, 21st in Adjusted Sack Rate). We've lost or failed to improve on a number of players in the offense that was below-average.

Again, if you expect the defense to decline because of losses, you need to anticipate the offense taking up the slack. I don't see any reason to think that's going to happen.

I still say those issues were somewhat corrected in the 2nd half of the season. The offense avg 30 pts vs 22 & moved the ball more effectively. Come on K9 I know you watched the games, the offense looked mucho better during that stretch after they adjusted having the deep ball taken away, palmers issues or whatever contributed to a slow start! They looked more like 2015 than poor.

I'm not worried about this offense one bit, if guys stay healthy.

Even the weighted offense was no better than mediocre (18th).

I know it feels like the offense had "fixed" itself by the end of the year, but the only above-average offense we faced was Seattle's.
