yeah, but adrian peterson wouldn't be practicing either. i don't know why, but that has to be the case to make passing on him for levi equal.

The bad news is that Levi Brown is STILL not.
I don't know if that is entirely accurate.

Levi Brown (ankle) is out [on the field] and dressed, but he isn't running with the starters, so I am guessing he will continue to be limited.
Sounds to me like he IS practicing, but not doing everything and not with the starting unit. I think he'll bhe active on Sunday and ready to go if there's an injury, but won't see the starting line-up again until after the bye.

By practicing, I mean taking reps with the first unit. It's kind of disappointing how long it's taken Levi to heal, but I guess those high ankle sprains can take a while.:(

Adrian Peterson wouldn't be doing jack because he would getting slammed 5 yards behind the line of scrimage.

It is not like Edge has been dominating since Levi has been out.

FURTHERMORE, everyone seems to constantly forget that Peterson runs behind one of the best O-Lines in the NFL.

Secondly, (this is not addressing the quote above) ripping on the guy cause of an injury is just stupid.

We are 3-3 and tied for 1st in the division. When you start thinking about 1 game, instead of a entire season when it comes to injury you are just not being smart about things.

Based on that I think letting Warner play at all is a stupid idea. Putting ANY pressure on Anquan to rush his hip injury is a stupid idea. Rushing Wilson back from his hamstring is a stupid idea. Rushing Levi Brown back from injury is stupid idea too.

Take Dansby, Wilson, Boldin, Warner, Brown out of this team and REGARDLESS of what happens we are not going to the playoffs.

Losing one game against Washington and getting the players listed above healthy to play out the end of the season, and we win the division and make the playoffs.

Wow. That is a lot of if's.

Wrong. Not behind this line. Edge hasn't been getting hit 5 yards behind the LOS, even with Levi hurt. Peterson would be doing the same thing. You can thank Grimm for that. We would still have the same OLine coach and Elton Brown back there, (assuming Ross still gets hurt)

That argument doesn't work this year. The Arizona line has been top 10 in both rushing and passing throughout the entire year. It hasn't fallen that much with Levi out either.

Just to take it a little further. I like using footballoutsiders.com stats. They are the only ones that actually break down different categories of OL info.

http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol.php

Ranked 6th in adjusted yards per carry

Ranked 3rd in Power Success (Power Success: Percentage of runs on third or fourth down, two yards or less to go, that achieved a first down or touchdown. Also includes runs on first-and-goal or second-and-goal from the two-yard line or closer. This is the only statistic on this page that includes quarterbacks.)

Ranked 9th in Runs Stuffed (Stuffed: Percentage of runs that result in (on first down) zero or negative gain or (on second through fourth down) less than one-fourth the yards needed for another first down. Since being stuffed is bad, teams are ranked from stuffed least often (#1) to most often (#32).)

Ranked 2nd in Pass Blocking.

Ranked 26th in Runs for 10 yards or more though.

Thats with consistent playing time for Lyle and Elton to boot. It will still be nice to get Levi back though.

The difference between a high ankle sprain and a low ankle sprain is the location. Just thought I'd mention that.

Chester Taylor ran behind that same line last year. He gained 57 yards more than James did with Edge running behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL.

what was Chester Taylor's YPC Duck? On top of that he isnt as good as edge which just shows how much better their line is IMO.

Gotta hate it when people use facts to back up an argument. :D

And unfortunately it's the runs for 10 yards or more stat that points out that while Edge is having a great year, he absolutely lacks breakaway speed.

I guess what gets me over the passing on AP thing is if we did pick him what in the world would we have done? The Colts couldn't trade Edge 2 years ago why would we have been able to?

So AP would either be getting less carries here than he does in Minny or we'd have a 2 headed RB situation too. Of course at the moment that's not such a bad idea, line up AP at QB and just run every down.

4 YPC. this year 4.3 or about 2 yards less per carry than Peterson.

What makes Peterson special is the combo of strength and speed, people are correct about that OL in Minny but that third long run Sunday there are very few RB's in the league that could gave got to the sideline and beat the contain like that, that was amazing for a guy his size.

The first run he broke #36's tackle and turned a 15 yard run into a 67 yard TD. The 2nd he faked out #36 and turned a 10 yard run into a 70+ yard TD. The last run he outran the contain who all had the angle.

Not one of those 3 runs would have been close to a TD with Edge and that's not a knock on Edge he just doesn't have that explosion that AP does.

That's the difference with Peterson and Lynch right now too, Peterson has the better OL but so far with one exception when Lynch is about to pop a big one he gets caught by the last guy, Peterson is outrunning the last guy and getting the big runs.

I should also point out Peterson has absolutely zero threat of the pass to help him in Minny.

Hindsight is always 20/20 so it's hard for me to be too upset about this situation. Every year there seems to be a guy that's labeled "can't miss" and don't work out. RB wasn't a want or need for the Cardinals in the first round. It sure would be nice to have AP at this point but no one, not even the Vikings, thought he would be performing like he is now.

Also, there's still a long way to go to see how he holds up, if he continues to excel, etc. He's Bo Jackson of the '00's at this point but we all know how long Bo lasted.

I was watching the Peterson highlight video on NFL.com, whoever was working the game with Dick Stockton repeatedly said Adrian is the best RB in the NFL right now and the best one to come into the NFL since Tomlinson.

That's a bit much for 6 games IMHO but let's face it when people asked who will win OROY the most common answer was Adrian or Marshawn so it's not really a shock he's good, just a shock he's THIS good.

All 3 of those TD runs were plays where most RB's don't get close to scoring
and remember that was against the Bears.

More update of injuries for after practice -

Dansby and Fransisco are still out and will be out.
Morey was back at full speed.
Wilson ended up being limited.
Levi was at full but still with 2nd stringers.
Warner practiced still limited and settled on a brace he likes, says he feels better then just one day ago.
