As the old Randy Travis song says "I tooooooold you so, oh I told you so" lol

Lesson learned don't piss on Michaels trust like he did with the Bidwills!!! This is the right move & they've got 3 stud ILBs anyway

Couldn't do it three years ago - CBA and Cap reasons.

BS. After the DV incident, they could have found a way to cut ties if they wanted. Just like with Floyd, they cut ties immediately citing some "moral" high ground. My argument is if they held out this long, they might a well have tried getting some value/production out of him. I can see a team like the Patriots picking him up (i.e. Randy Moss) and making something out of nothing. Maybe he turns into nothing but for some reason I see him being serviceable.

Come on man, taking a $10 million cap hit in 1 year when you're trying to compete for a superbowl? That doesn't make any sense at all. Could they have done it? Sure, but why? It would've hurt the team that year & not helped that much over the next few years. They handled it they way that they should've financially. I don't agree with cutting him right now, but I don't know what happened in that meeting or what's happened in the last few days since that meeting.

Good riddance.

I wouldn't have bitched if he was on the team, and god knows I probably would have cheered if he was making plays, but ultimately, I'm glad He's gone. He couldn't get his ish together for THREE YEARS.

That says to me he's still having issues.

Floyd was on last year of contract. Washington was on year 1 of 4. Would have been $10M cap hit that year.

So no, this is not comparable to Mike Floyd

Floyd didnt just sign a long term contract. There was no impact to us. Cutting Wash 3 years ago would have hamstrung our cap. This is a fact.

Yeah I am not surprised and not happy or unhappy. Very sad that it had to come to this sitting out that long and still apparently not where the Cards need him to be.

I wish him luck he's made plenty of money so at this point if he wants to play I hope he gets the chance but if not I hope he has matured and figured some things out

If they liked what they heard and saw and decided to give him a shot, I was Ok with that. If they didn't like what they saw and heard and decided to cut him I was OK with that also.

Doesn't surprise me. Everything that was said about the 'process' was PR speak/smoke screen.

I'd be very surprised if he has any impact with whomever decides to sign him.

So ridiculous. This should have been done three years ago, if that was their stance

They tried to get money back that he stole from them. If someone stole millions of dollars from me, then I would have done the same.

Contrary to popular belief, when he was suspended he did not count again the cap, thus there was no harm in keeping him while they tried to get their money back from a liar and a thief.

Good riddance.

“I want to thank the Cardinals organization, especially Mr. Bidwill and Steve Keim for drafting and believing in me, and their continued support,” Washington said in a statement provided to PFT. “We’ve had some really positive and productive discussions this week, and at the end of the day we mutually agreed it was best for both sides to get a fresh start. I’m in the best shape of my life, and very much look forward to the next opportunity, where I will again play at an All-Pro level and help my team make a championship run.”
