wha? where have I ever said a bad word about Washington? Kid's an absolute stud.

You never did say anything bad. Just said that if he's found guilty you don't want to root for guys like that and hope they cut him iirc?

I think this is what you are referencing:

this seriously sucks if true. and if true...after being a big enough idiot to fail drug tests MULTIPLE times to get suspended for 4 games, if he tacks on beating a woman to that rap, I don't want any part of that kind of idiot on our team. Again, this is assuming what happened tonight IS TRUE.

This is true, but I never wanted him gone because of his skills, I wanted him gone IF GUILTY because he's an idiot and that idiocy would be really hard to root for AND it would hurt the team (which I'm pretty sure I said later in that thread or another thread). Giving a two time offender a 10 million dollar bonus is an extremely risky thing considering if he gets three strikes, he's likely facing year long suspensions or possibly worse.

All dependent on that court case and punishment levied IMO.

I voted too soon only because we should know what's going on with the criminal case by then. If he is getting locked up, cut. Otherwise pay.

So does SK approach DWash and his agent and say, "That 10 mil bonus needs to be reduced or stipulations put in because of all the legal and off field issues".

We will pay you the $10 mil but $8 mil comes back to the club if DWash screws up again.

I don't know how you don't see any merit in the question???

DWash is a great player for us who has already received a 4 game suspension for controlled substances and has another legal issue pending. $10 mil roster bonus is a ton for a CAP strapped team that can't afford to throw that money away.

Sure I think DWash should be kept but do you and I know how much trouble he is or could be in? While I don't agree with K9 that DWash should be cut to ensure we re-sign Los but it doesn't mean it isn't a valid topic for conversation.

Pay him! I dont care if its 15 million and the league suspends him for the first 6 games. They should already be working out an extension. Play after play he blows up the offense at the point of attack, the guy is a beast.

Kidding me? He's the best player on the team.

Ummm this.

I dont freak out about the 4 Game Suspension like everyone else. Ill take him at face value he learned his lesson. You scared of keeping young pro bowl guys like Josh Gordon and Richard Sherman too?

He smoked weed. I barely think that should be ANY suspension and think in next 2 years with new laws in Washington and Colorado it wont be.

So are you asking me should we not pay a reasonable contract and overall bonus to our best player IMHO because he smoked some weed? LOL, The people freaking about 10 million dollars dont get the contract. What he was signed to was an AMAZING deal and one of the few things I give Rod Graves credit for. In order to get that amazing yearly pay for a 24 year old Pro Bowler they had to throw in a big balloon payment like a signing bonus. Its not that big a deal and I am certainly not not paying it to keep Dansby, Shaugnessey, and Rucker. frankly im surprised that even was brought up.

Ignore the bonus when it kicks in and look at the cap hit in 2015, 2016, and 2017......

Umm seem like a good deal for a guy in his prime???

There is a risk for sure but not one that says you should CUT him. You can be as sanctimonious as you want about pot. Me (and the Cardinals and every other NFL team with a brain) will keep the guy. The only people its valid to are people with agendas who cant stand they were wrong on the guy and people who like to talk just to talk. It wont happen, shouldnt happen, and is a terrible idea/opinion/thread.

Not that I have a strong opinion on this or anything :)

:D

But to be fair, Cason has played in only 50 defensive snaps this season--that's 6% of the total. He played 21 defensive snaps LAST WEEK. So he's played 29 defensive snaps the previous 12 games.

That's not exactly the mark of a good CB.

What would be the mechanism to get that money back? A prolonged legal battle? A reduction in his base salary? I doubt that's allowed in the CBA.

And if he says - no - then what?

:yeahthat:

Why are you only talking about pot? Are you just completely ignoring that there's still a domestic abuse case on top of the weed that was pushed until after the season to adjudicate or just forget about it? That's what has people worried (at least me). That we could be looking at a two-time player conduct offender.
