Sunday is going to be quite a matchup -- Webb against Jake Peavy.

Randy Johnson is only 43 strikeouts away from passing Roger Clemens for the #2 slot on all time strikeouts. Hopefully RC stays retired living with his shrunken nuts and "K" named children.

Yep, I'm getting my popcorn ready for that one!

BTW, anyone know what channel on DirectTV is the alternate FSN for the D'Backs game?

Deanna, I can't speak to the validity of this but a co-workers says: DirecTV channel 329

Six innings and just one run for Johnson tonight, solid performance (even if it is the Padres).

Nice to see Randy pitch so well. He is now 36 strikeouts away from passing Clemens. If he stays healthy for the rest of the year, do you all think he can win 13 the rest of the regular season and 2 more in the playoffs for 300? It would be so nice to see him get win #300 in the World Series, haha...but maybe that's hoping for too much. I hope he can at least get close and they let him pitch part of the season next year to reach that milestone.

5-1 D-Backs!!! Reynolds with the big 3 run homer. Good small ball execution and a great outing by RJ

Just hope Byrnes and Drew are ok

The 300 win milestone only counts regular season wins.

I c...well next season then :) Don't see him winning any more than 11 or 12 this year.

I really think RJ has a very good chance on getting to his 300th win this season. With some run support from the guys I think he can get it.
We will see by the end of the season.
Regards....

I can't believe that Haren gets on in the top of the 11th on a walk, and instead of moving him over, everyone starts swinging for the fences. Bad baseball.

Giving up that hit with two outs in the second to the pitcher Germano essentially caused four runs to score. Oh well, just have to take the series tomorrow.

A few series ago, wasn't this the Padre team that lost 1-0 in 2 out of 3 games to the Giants?

Wouldnt doubt it. Im too lazy to check, but this team has little offense. They rely heavily on pitching to get through games. Pads are one of those teams that if you can put up 5 or more runs, youll win 9 out of 10.

This is why I love this DBacks team. They have just as good of a pitching staff with some quality hitters who can hit for power or just play fundamental baseball

Webb and the Diamondbacks beat Peavy and the Padres 2-1 to take the series. The bullpen behind Cruz, Pena and Lyon shutdown the Padres in the last three innings to give Webb the win.

Next up, Papa Grande and the Astros.
