Surprised there is no thread on this, Nats up 3-0 after 4 in the first game of the series.

Well, he's been better than the hitters. I was worried about how we'd do on the road. The first game, so far, has not been good.

Cormier just plunked Vinnie Castilla who was a single shy of the cycle. Could make the rest of this series a bit more interesting.

It's frustrating that our "first" starter has been our "worst" starter. I wonder what's causing his problems.

Do you think that his hesitancy to leave the East Coast has taken some of his "heart" out the picture?

I'll predict now that he will not be back next year.

I didn't like that move. Not only will the Nationals try to get some payback, the rest of the league will notice it too. I understand the hard ass, "He's embarassing us. Let's show him he can't walk all over us and hit his butt," view, but against this opponent, at this time of the year, I wouldn't have done it.

I felt it was bush league move as well. Nobody knows what really happened or if there was something done by Washington to provoke it. But it's pretty obvious it was intentional, because Snyder was basically ready to get in between Castilla and Cormier before the pitch was even thrown.

Weak, bush move.

This from the team that is still mad at Ben Davis.

0-0 going to the bottom of the 3rd. Diamondbacks had Tererro on 2nd but Council grounded out. Council had a good first week but he lately has not been doing well. I have a feeling we are going to see his average and on-base percentage drop more to what we expected, which is not good. Having him and Clayton batting first and second is going to start hurting this team.

Games like this always make me think of Nick Bierbrodt, Brad Penny, and John Patterson as D'Backs.

Geez, Thom and Grace don't know what disposable income is. And Grace went to San Diego State. I guess he did not take economics.

John Patterson for Randy Choate......
I know he wasn't this good when he was with us... and that he didn't have that nice slider... he is killing us.

Bierbrodt never turned out to be anything and Patterson was not good when he was here. Penny got Mantei, and at the time the Diamondbacks needed relief help. Penny has not even pitched yet this year and has only pitched one game since being traded to the Dodgers.

As for the game, 2-0 as Diamondback killer Castilla goes deep. 2-out walks will hurt you.

Great...I didn't say they all (or any them for that matter) should still been on the roster.

There was a time that there were considered 'untouchable' and 'the future of the franchise for years to come'.

If you think he meant to hit him you are joking yourself. It was meant to be an inside pitch, and there wasn't any malicious intent behind it.

Actually, the more I consider the bush play, I think the call came from the dug-out.

It sure looked intentional to me.

Melvin needs to change the batting order tomorrow. This offense is not hitting at all.

Nice irony - - Patterson shuts us down, while the pitcher we got in return for him melts down!! 'Lefty specialist' my a**!! Choate is no better than Mike Myers was at getting out LH batters!!
