8 runs in the 1st. Kudos to the Dbacks hitters for coming through. But it must be said that the Pod's highest paid pitcher has probably had his last chance as a starter.

What a fun first inning! It was funny, I turned on the game 10 mins before it even started. Watched everything up till the first inning started and dozed off. Woke up when the Dbacks had a 6-0 lead and was like "WOW"! I had to rewind it back to the start of the bottom of that inning. I couldn't miss on how we ended up with 6 runs in the first!

Jon Duplantier, rhp, Diamondbacks. Duplantier told BA he’s pitching with a chip on his shoulder after dropping to the third round in last June’s draft and that is showing in his performance. The one-time Rice ace pitched six more scoreless innings Friday for low Class A Kane County in a 5-0 win over Quad Cities (Astros). Duplantier, who pitching coach Rich Sauveur called a “steal,” is now 4-0, 0.64 with 54 strikeouts and 11 walks in 42.1 innings.
