Clark's performance suffers significantly when he starts two games in a row, and he's been struggling just as bad, if not worse, than Jackson this season, as shown by his .237/.288/.491 hitting stats.
Regardless, you're supposed to ride the "hot hand". That's what any decent manager does. Clark's stats could be better if he was given more of an opportunity to play on consecutive dates.
A breaking ball pitcher is worse for CoJack since he generally tries to pull off the ball, whereas a veteran savvy hitter such as Clark exhibits more patience and would take the ABs deeper in the count.
And please don't tell me starting Snyder over Montero wasn't idiotic as well. Montero has a lot of upside and is even better defensively than Snyder.
Also, why play Hairston? The only reason is because Melvin believes a player shouldn't be inactive because all deserve a chance. That's wrong.. a player only merits an opportunity when he proves he deserves it.
Why bother changing the line-up again after a victory as well? I understand that Tracy was injured, but they should have kept the winning line-up active again, however, no, for the sake of it Melvin changes everything and it regresses.
A shut-out? Please justify and put a positive spin on that for me.
