Damn, one pitch made the difference. Oh well, I can't fault Livan, he matched Peavy pitch for pitch for most of the game. Now, we have Webb pitching.

Livan saved our bullpen from carrying the load. That means alot in the first game of a long series. A win would have been nice, but we have Webb tonight and presumably rested bullpen arms for the last 2 games, if needed.

Yeah, Livan stepped up big time. He was beating the probably Cy Young winner for 6 2/3, then he gave up that 2-out walk and it was over from there.

Oh well. It was hard to expect a win in that game. But we have a great shot in each of the next 3 games and we need to start with a win tonight.

The offense is not built to win anything this year. They have some decent runs, but nothing sustainable. Webb is having a bad game for him, and with no offense for the past few series, it is going to be tough to stay in first place.

still leading the division and in really good shape for the wild card. unless they just completely meltdown, they're probably still gonna be in the playoffs, which will be pretty damn amazing.
