Which non-coincidentally is the point at which Owings typically falls apart.and he only had 94 pitches.
He usually falls apart earlier...I'm glad to see he lasted longer this time. He hit the wall and now he's back to pitching well which is a positive thing to take out of this terrible series.Which non-coincidentally is the point at which Owings typically falls apart.

Looks like no hoffman time tonight, so who knows!
Yeah, heaven forbid the team uses their 8th inning guy who has been solid all year in the uh... 8th inning.I'm not sure about the exact number of pitches, but I believe Owings usually 'falls apart' much earlier than that. What would've been the harm in sending him back out? If he lets a guy on, then you pull him, not before hand because you have some bizarre hunch.
I don't know why you defend Melvins call in this situation when the results clearly show he botched the call. He pulled Owings, the Dbacks are now trailing. Leave Owings in, and maybe the same would've happened, but I'd rather stick with a hot hand than switch out.
