Daigle hit in knee by line drive and is replaced by Medders. Assuming it is as bad as it looked and he goes on the DL (he didn't even attempt to get the ball and throw out the runner), who will we call up? I say Kevin Jarvis, give him a shot

The replay showed it might not be as serious as first thought. It looked like the ball hit the inside of his leg, just below the inside of his knee. If Daigle has to take some time off I would also give Jarvis a shot. Maybe even start him and use El Duque out of the bullpen, just like the White Sox did.

First off, I never hope for a player to get injured (unless it's Kobe Bryant) and I hope Daigle will be OK. However, if Daigle has to miss ANY TIME he should be put on the DL. A bullpen arm is too valuable and we can't afford for him to miss 2,3,4 games. We play the next 9 days on the road with 6 of the 9 coming against St. Louis and San Diego. Put him on the DL if he needs healing time and bring up Jarvis. I agree with you on El Duque but that won't happen till the end of the year and/or if we acquire a starter before the deadline

Crap!!! Line drive double play to end the game. The winning streak is over but they won another series. Off to Pittsburgh to start another winning streak.

DevilFan I guess I am over stating my point to a degree in order to make a point. I just dont want to see the Dbacks trade away tomorrow for being bounced out of the 1st round. I'd rather sit tight, and let the prospects develop than trade for some aging veteran that is supposed to get the team "over the hump"...but doesnt pan out.

I hope I can have my cake an eat it to. I hope we can trade Gonzo/Green/Ortiz (all or some of them) midseason for some better, cheaper players and keep our prospects.

Either way I can't wait to see the Dbacks here in St Louis next week!

Like I've said, if Byrnes is to make a trade for a pitcher he has to do it the right way. Based on the moves he's made, I don't think we have to worry. BTW, I'm with you on not trading away prospects. We don't agree on when certain prospects should come up. Everything will work out with Byrnes runnin the ship
