And the pessimists are sadly vindicated. Funny enough, some of my comic book geek fans, though pessimistic, had the 'you can't judge until...' opinion. Every single one of them are now horrified at this casting selection. A Wonder Woman Stick, they say, and of course I agree

Apparently 6 thousand of the biggest comic book geek fans in the entire world sitting in Hall H at comic con didn't get the pessimist memo that she sucks because they all went wild when this image was shown.

She looks a lot like Xena, maybe too much, but other than that, I think it's a pretty good likeness of Wonder Woman. Stout doesn't like it, which isn't too surprising--I'd be more worried if he DID. ;)

I think she looks pretty damn good. No problem with it.

Man, all my posts got eaten in this forum--now I know who the hackers are :D

Of course the dudes hooted and hollared--she's a skeleton, and that's 'in' as 'sexy' these days. That doesn't mean she ACTUALLY looks like Wonder Woman. Not even close.

Eh, this movie's going to be a train wreck anyway. It's like DC closely researched Marvel's success and how to achieve it, and purposefully did the opposite.

Ever since I had my doubts about Heath Ledger as the Joker dashed by the final product, I've maintained a "wait and see" attitude about the final product.

I both like, and dislike, the new Wonder Woman outfit.

It’s kind of like my opinion on the film itself…

…I keep wondering to myself why everyone seems to want to keep going back to Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns". I believe that Nolan already did an excellent job incorporating many of the best elements of it into his trilogy.

I keep telling myself that the film is going to be a train wreck, that there are too many moving parts for it to work, that having pretty much the entire Justice League cast to appear is just asking too much for one 3 hour movie…

…and then I see then teaser that was shown at the panel (the faceoff between Supes and Batman) and think to myself “**** YEAH!”

I’m so confused. :(

The hackers suck so much. So many conversations lost in such a short time period.

Like I previously had posted - people have concerns over this film...casting, etc...but Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is NOT one of my concerns at all.

She is the perfect person to play a beautiful female warrior. She was a beauty queen and a soldier and is a decent actress. She'll be fine, IMHO.

And she's 100 pounds and does NOT look like a warrior woman. Look, I get it. People think she's hot (she is) and can act (I can't comment on that), so they give her a pass. It's not enough; you need to LOOK the part too, and she doesn't even come close.

As for Heath Ledger, looking the part was never the problem.

Really? I tell you 10 out of 10 people surveyed before The Dark Knight would never have even CONSIDERED Heath Ledger as the Joker.

Calling B.S. on this. Keaton did not look the part. Ledger did not look the part. Evans - some people still say he is not big enough to play the part.

Completely agree. I frequent other forums and people erupted at the thought of Ledger and said he doesn't fit the look blah blah blah. Check out some of the forums back when Heath's first production picture was released. People were screaming it looked nothing like the joker.

I myself erupted at the thought of Ledger as the Joker. Not because of his physicality, but because I didn't think he had the chops for it. Chops don't gain you twenty or so pounds of muscle.

a Best Actor Oscar nominee didn't have the chops to play the Joker and a woman that was literally a warrior for the most badass army on the world can't kick serious ass. Those two statements pretty much says everything to me about your credibility as far as casting is concerned.

Yep, I never said that, not once. Feel free to retract it now.

I didn't say she couldn't kick ass. You know the business--looks are everything. She doesn't look the part. She might be able to kill me with her little finger, but if she doesn't look like she can do it, the audience won't buy it. Don't try to misdirect the topic.

Just because you're a best actor nominee doesn't mean you can play every single part in the industry (unless you're Daniel Day Lewis--pretty sure he could pull off Queen Elizabeth I if he wanted). In Heath's case, turned out he could act the part, and I and many on this board heartily ate our words.

Trying to put words in my mouth and changing the topic doesn't make me wrong, nor does being outnumbered on this board make me wrong. Sorry, Cheese.

Lol...okay Stout. Do you want Wonder Woman to look like a body builder? Because I've never seen her look anything like that in the comic books. Didn't really ever see much of her with bulging muscles in comics either.
