Here's a good article on DE/OLB in the draft which is definitely a need for the Cards.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/NFL-scouts-a-look-at-the-top-OLBDE-prospects.html

The guy who sound the most intriguing to me, after round 1, is Vinny Curry. I also don't like what I read about Melvin Ingram and no longer want him even considered at 13.

Upshaw, Mercilus, Curry, and McClellin sound the best to me.
really? I'm pretty confident in DD, CC, Scho and Acho. I'd be looking more at ILB, CB, WR, TE, and OFFENSIVE TACKLE. Since apparently replacing 1 guard is fixing our line to our front office

I think it's a mitsake to put all their eggs in Acho and Schoefield's basket. I don't know how you cannot think OLB is a need. I agree that OL still needs upgraded but that can change if Bell signs. SILB is also a need but I think the Cards will ride out another year with Lenon, Walker, and the $30 million mistake.

I also agree that CB may be high on the Cards list. A guy like Kirkpatrick, teamed with Peterson, would make a very nice CB tandem. If Bell signs, I'd rank the Cards priorities as OLB, CB, WR, ILB.

you could say it about almost every other position on the team though

OT - just ugly
mid 3 - they're ok, but no depth there either
TE - Heap played like 20 minutes last year
WR - only Fitz
RB - Beanie's always hurt, RW didn't see opening day
QB - Kolb has a styrofoam skull and Skelton is 3" more accurate than Derek Anderson

CB - Peterson isn't there yet, Toler just missed a full year
SS - AW is great, but has been hurt like the past 3 years
FS - I love Rhodes, he compliments AW perfectly. Both positions share Johnson as a backup, and he's not that good
OLB - Scho and Acho showed a lot last year. Haggans is ok, but old
ILB - Wash is the man. Lenon is ok but old. Bradley is a waste
DE - DD and CC are beasts. Holiday is the backup? I dunno, the other 2 are never hurt
NT - Williams and Carter are good enough I suppose

but in terms of strictly starters, we have no #2 WR and the OTs are the same ones that we've been bitching about for the past 2 years. I don't see using the 1st rounder on OLB over either of those positions

I'm enthusiastic about Scho and Acho but I'd still say OLB is a front line need. Neither of those guys are close to proven (just potential) and you can always use good pass rushers.
IMO, our main needs are WOLB and LOT with a second tier of WR, SOLB, SILB, OG, CB. We could use some depth/backups at WILB, DE, FS, SS.

Walker is no longer with the Cards. They offered him a contract that he didn't like, so he's visiting other teams and won't be re-signing here.

I am all in for the Best Player available.....

Kalil
Claiborne
DeCastro
Upshaw
Kirkpatrick
Blackmon
RG III

any of these guys are there when we pick and I expect to see the Cards at the podium before they finish picture time with the previous guy selected.

we have some decent players, but any position can be upgraded....yes we need OT's...but a probowl caliber OG makes your tackles better...so selecting DeCastro helps your tackles and improves the strength of the line overall........we have a decent secondary...but adding in stud talent at CB...or even Safety...sits our weakest link on the bench....at WR I would prefer we draft blazing speed...but I am okay with soft hands and freakish athleticism.....sacks are great for a LB in a 3-4...but I want a guy who once he gets his hands on the ball carrier, the play is over....sure, solid, dependable tackling.....an occasional flying helmet is good as well.

We also have Jeff King who played well last year and Housler as well as Dray though I don't think Dray is anything special. But King is the #1 guy right now I'd think. 27 catches and 3 TDs and blocks well.

I like King...one of the better all around TE's in the league......these days most TE's are either chubby WR's or skinny o-linemen...... King does it all well.

Melvin Ingram could be the next James Harrison. It wouldn't bother me at all if we took him at 13.

I'm liking Upshaw more and more (as an OLB). I also am liking Nick Perry more and more (as a DE).

Your thought about the pro-bowl OG is what I have been salivating about. If we can sign Bell before the draft, then we are set to take BPA, (and if DeCastro is there, then we have the opportunity to finally have an OL that is very talented, very deep, and extremely flexible.

Mike Mayoch says that he simply does not have the quick twitch to play OLB. He now ranks him as a DE, and you get the distinct undertone that he doesn't believe he'll add up to much. Ingram, however, he's high on.

Signing Bell or not, if Decastro is there I'll bet the Cards grab him as any other likely available O-lineman at #13 is a reach.

Dray and Housler haven't done anything yet, so I'm not sold on either of em. but you are right about King, I like him. We picked him up as a blocker last year and he ended up being our best target outside Fitz. But he still hasn't shown me any more than Scho and Acho have

I have no problem with taking BPA. But if we're focusing on a single position, we have a lot more dire needs than OLB and DE
