I don't buy the reasoning. I think he was sat down and told it was a loser and opted not to make it look worse by losing an appeal. That's how I view it.

That could be or it could simply be that he doesn't have solid enough proof to get it overturned. For instance if it was a tainted supplement, but no longer has the tainted supplement because he had thrown it away earlier. We can't completely know for sure what happened unless someone in the know comes out and actually explains exactly what happened.

Yeah, pretty much. It’s a black-and-white situation. He got caught with diuretics in his system and was busted. Not sure what grounds he even had to appeal, but Ayton isn’t going to outwardly admit that nor does he have to.

That said, 25 games was too punitive. Just glad it’s over.

It’s gonna take him a few games to really get into game shape. Doesn’t matter if he’s been practicing or going 4 on 4 while he’s been suspended. There’s no substitute for playing real NBA basketball so to me we need to be a little patient with him for at least the first handful of games. Let him shake the rust off before jumping all over him.

How do you unintentionally take a banned diuretic? I can see a supplement tainted with steroids, hormone precursors. Happens all the time. Suppliers juice their product to gain an edge in the market. But who's spiking the whey protein with masking agent? Bs to me.

Ayton's suspension might as well have been 30 games because he'll be feeling the effects for the next 5 or 6 games with working himself back into game shape and also developing chemistry with everyone else.

His individual punishment wasn't nearly as bad as how bad the Suns were punished by it. He lost some money, the Suns lost a third of their season.

I hope James Jones isn't dead set on trading our pick and if he is then I hope he adds protection to it or gets proper value for it because it's looking like it'll be around #8-12 in the upcoming draft. If it's traded then the likelihood that it moves up increases because the basketball gods hate the Phoenix Suns.

I think it is more the speed of the game that will be a struggle, how there isn't a stop in action after a couple plays, like in practice. I expect he should be up to pace pretty quickly, another game or 2.

The effect on our season is brutal... I think we'd have, at minimum, 5 more wins. 16-11 looks a lot better than 11-16.

I don't think it's that hard to figure out, or at least guess how it came about. He intentionally took something to mask pot and didn't realize at the time that what he took drew a stiffer penalty than a positive pot test and was a banned substance on it's own. So he unintentionally took a banned substance to hide the pot. Had he known at the time that the league tested for masking agents then he probably wouldn't have tried taking it.

I'm not giving him a pass, it's still his own stupidity and immature behavior that put him in that situation to start with. Let's hope he learned a lesson and doesn't repeat it in the future. What's done is done, thankfully he's back now. Let's hope he can get back in the swing of things and make a difference in a positive way moving forward.

I don't think it's that hard to figure out, or at least guess how it came about. He intentionally took something to mask pot and didn't realize at the time that what he took drew a stiffer penalty than a positive pot test and was a banned substance on it's own. You're saying it was unintentional because he didn't know the masking agent he intended to use was banned? One, that's kind of naïve. Two, that doesn't negate his intent to use the masking agent. And what makes you so sure he was masking pot?
