The Atlanta Falcons are taking a modest approach to the 2025 NFL free agency period. The team has not gone after big-name free agents and re-signed a few key role players from the 2024 roster. Cornerback Dee Alford has not landed a new contract, but the former undrafted free agent earned a nice chunk of change for his performance last season.

According to a report from NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Alford earned $835,394 in performance-based pay, which ranked 23rd in the league. The NFL offers this additional compensation based on playing time and Alford appeared in 16 games with 11 starts last season. Check out the top 25 performance-based bonuses from 2024 below.

While it's too early to rule out a return for Alford in 2025, the team has already brought back two defensive backs in free agency. The Falcons re-signed starting cornerback Mike Hughes to a three-year, $18 million contract and later signed free-agent defensive back Mike Ford to a two-year, $4 million contract.

Alford, 27, has appeared in 48 games with 16 starts over the last three seasons, recording 149 tackles (104 solo), 24 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one interception since joining the team in 2022. The Falcons had the option to tender Alford as an unrestricted free agent for $3 million but chose to let him hit the open market.
