It is a remake, almost line for line of a French-Canadian movie called Starbuck. It is very borning movie and in French, so I assume VV was cast to liven it up.

Wife dragged me to it. I had low expectations. It wasn't all that bad. Actually, it was one of the better VV movies in years. That's still not saying much. Save your money and rent it. But there are some definite moments that give you a lump in your throat. Like:

The first of his 533 children that he discovers is an NBA star. "That's my genes on the court!" The second one gets fired as a barista, but thanks to VV, he lands his dream job as an actor. So far, so good. The next encounter is with a daughter, whom he catches mid-heroine overdoes.

Finally, he pulls a file and we just see a sad look on his face. Cut to: his son, severely developmentally disabled (wheel chair, unable to speak or focus on him, etc.) That moment is like a punch in the gut, but brings out some of finest acting of VV's career.

I don't know, I usually like Vince Vaughn but I thought he was sort of boring in this role. I think this was a little more serious than I was expecting though.

He was still good in the movie. I really liked it even though he wasn't his full on goofy self.
