He is a center.

Can you see the problem?

No. It's not like other deals can't be made, now or in the future. For the short term, Teletovic, Leuer, PJ and even Warren will likely fill the power forward minutes and I'm sure we'd even see the occasional Tyson/Cousins pairing against certain opponents.

How about Kief and Bled? Would that be enough? We won't need Len if we get Cuz though. Kief, Bled and Len?

I'd like to keep 2/3 of Warren, Booker and Goodwin. I'm afraid to gamble on a known headcase though. What to do, what to do.

If something like Len, Morris, and Warren would get it done - you have to do it. I'm a big Len homer but the Suns need to swing for the fences here. Cousins might very well be insane but PHX isn't going to land Durant. And after just missing Aldridge this might be their only chance to get a "star." Insane or not.

I said the Suns look set at center with Tyson Chandler and Len. That's a big reason the Suns do not give up the store for Cousins. However, when a star becomes available, one always has to look at it.

It would be tough for some of us to cheer for Cousins, he's not a very likable player. But he's only 25. He's just coming into his physical prime and already has 4 straight years of 20+ PER (2 straight years with a PER over 25). That's impressive.

I don't know if it would interest them but Markieff, Len and Goodwin (or Warren) plus the Miami picks and the Cleveland pick works dollar-wise and might get the discussion started. It's likely we'd have to get another team involved and probably even have to throw in a pick or two of our own (with little protection) but it would be worth pursuing if they really want to move him.

Maybe this is what it takes to trade for Cousins but I think it is too much to give up for a potential headache.

You need to keep Bled if you're going after Cousins.

It's nowhere near enough for a player of his ability. It's even more lopsided than the Barkley deal was but Charles was a proven winner and this guy's teams have been nothing but bad. We only have an outside chance at finding a trading point in the first place because Demarcus has been a headache (and the team has never succeeded).

He is considered a f/c and thinks of himself as a pf. He is listed as a pf on many sites. He is like Tim Duncan or Pau Gasol that way. I have no doubt that he could play along side of Chandler just fine. In fact, a C/F rotation of Chandler, Cousins, Tele, Leuer has a really nice balance. Its alot like the pg rotation. Chandler and Cousins can play together. When Chandler is out Cousins slides over to C and Tele or Leuer play pf. When Cousins is out Tele or Leuer play pf.

Picks can always even out a trade.

Remind me again what Miami picks are coming our way?

Never mind I did some digging and found some info here.

It says we get three picks but I can only see two of them:
- 2017 first-round pick to Suns (top-7 protected in 2017, unprotected in 2018)
- 2021 first-round pick to Suns (unprotected)

The player we are taking with that 2021 pick is in elementary school right now.

The Suns received two first round draft picks for Goran Dragic.

A third first round pick was obtained in a separate trade when the Suns traded Isaiah Thomas to the Celtics.

I'm not aware of any other first round picks coming to the Suns from the February 2015 trade deadline deals.

I believe a lottery protected 2016 Cleveland 1st rounder is coming our way from the Isaiah Thomas trade - been a while since I've checked.....

Check that - the 2016 Cleveland 1st rounder is top 10 protected :

The Phoenix Suns today completed a deal to acquire Cleveland’s protected 2016 first-round pick and guard Marcus Thornton from the Boston Celtics in exchange for guard Isaiah Thomas.

The Suns received Cleveland’s 2016 first-round pick (protected to 10) from the Celtics in the deal. Boston initially acquired the pick from the Cavaliers in a three-team trade also involving Brooklyn on July 10, 2014.

This is the first round pick the Suns obtained from the Celtics for Isaiah Thomas.

It would take a disaster for the Suns to worry about protection on the Cleveland pick.

Dude is a legit 24, 12 and 1.7 (almost 2). If you have a shot and all you have to take a stab at it. Even if it includes some of your young talent like Len. I still believe Bledsoe and Knight are redundant so I would even consider one of them.

I would trade the entire team to get a franchise player like Cousins. Entire team.

Truth is the Suns are nothing more than a big steamin pile of role players.

Exactly. I don't care if he's a headcase, I doubt he's even close to the Morris idiots status.
