2. dennis does not want to trade down (but he was not too emphatic so he might be bluffing)

3. josh mccown is "one of the better QBs in the NFL" (i don't think the "eyeroll" icon does that justice)

4. developing the players we already have is a lot of work, no more projects will be drafted, only guys who have a chance to contribute sooner rather than 4 years down the road

5. lack of committment to the offseason program under mcginnis is one of the biggest factors in our bad teams recently

LV i can't answer that, I am only reporting what Dennis said.

As for rounds 4-7 i think he probably meant at the top of the draft. it's kind of implied that you're not getting immediate contributors at the bottom, but i think he was referring to our 1st three picks.

Actually, he said McCown is "going to be" one of the better QB's in the NFL. He didn't say that he is right now. Then he went on to list all of McCown's physical attributes, athleticism, competetiveness etc.

By saying he won't draft more projects, I think you can close the book on Olshansky.

Hold on there. I can see Green taking players that have slipped because of injury, off the field problems, or perhaps excel on special teams like a punt returner. Situational players that may not do eveyrthing good but do 1 thing very good, i.e., pass rush or run stuffer.

One thing is for sure. The roster we saw last year will be much different than last years. Guys that we have coddled with the promise of potential will be gone. Mike Stone, Bryan Gilmore, Jason McCadeley, Bryant, Pace and more better step it up big time in the next 3 months or put their applications in at Safeway.

Yes he is referring to 1 and 2 and hoping for 3 although that is a reach.

Hopefully 4-7 should be able to contribute to ST right away.

In 10 years in MIN DG had 20 rookie starters. And 7 made the all rookie team.
