On TV sports talk last night they were speculating that Turner was one of about 8 who would be gone. They did not mention Green as one of the 8 but did give their names.

Turner is the worst kept secret in football, he's long gone.

It's Xmas so I won't bash him as hard as I could but, why does he continue to get a job in the NFL?

No one has made more hay off of a ridiculous one time setup for the ages.

He had at one time two all pro linemen, the greatest rusher in NFL history, a pro bowl WR QB and TE.

That's how he earned his rep as an offensive genius. He got two HC gigs out of that and in both cases he stunk royally.

I forgot a pro-bowl fullback too.

With a defense that was so rock solid it was scary to give him the ball back constantly.

Mortenson was on NFL Matchup and I dont remember the exact words the basis of it was that all of his scources are telling him it just isnt true.

He was on ESPN Radio and did a run down on each head coach. He basically said that Green isn't going anywhere this year. But that there is pressure mounting for him to have sucess after three years of running the Cardinals program.

Mortenson is about as credible as you can get these days. So, I'm pretty firm believer that this is nothing drummed up into something by the usual culprits.

I cant find the article but it was in the AZ Rebublic from the most reliable scource of info on the Cards Somers or Urban, a while after the the first rumor. I believe it was posted, maybe someone else knows where you can find it. I couldnt find it for some reason. I will keep looking.

I found it. It was a piece by Urban on the possible coaching staff changes. He sums it up pretty well here:

Since the Cardinals’ season first turned south for the winter, rumors have been flying about Dennis Green.

That he wants out as Arizona’s coach. That he wants to take over the Rams.

These things are completely unsubstantiated and, frankly, make little sense.

Green has two guaranteed years left on his contract — worth around $5 million — and neither he or the Bidwill family would be likely to pull the plug on this planned revival, at least not yet. There’s a new stadium to open, and the Bidwills won’t want to start all over. In Green’s case, he has a reputation that needs rehabilitation.

Green isn’t going anywhere for now.
