Add PHI to a likely destination, they can offer Iggy who just so happened to have a good summer with Team USA but looks like the odd man out in PHI with all their young talent, but some of that talent could be packaged with him for Melo. DEN has to be intrigued.

I doubt Melo would re-sign in Philly bud.

I'd say his most likely "darkhorse" destination at this point is Houston, especially if the Rockets are willing to trade Kevin Martin for him.

NJ is offering the best deal imo. Favors, plus the expiring contracts of Murphy and someone else, plus at least 1 first round draft pick. That's a haul.

I will take the Deng, Gibson and 5 future first rounders as long as Noah stays.

PG Rose
SG Brewer
SF Anthony
PF Boozer
C Noah

Now that is a starting 5, two great defenders in Brewer and Noah, two play makers and a true PF.

Why in the hell would Denver make that trade? Deng has negative value and an awful contract, Gibson is ok, but is at best a bench role player, and late 1st? If that's the cost, perhaps the Suns should get involved.

Instead of attacking me, why don't you ask the guy who wrote the article?

IMO the Bulls will have to offer Noah to be considered.

I have come to the realization that Melo will not be a Bulls Although, I am not sure why he would accept the Nets as his destination with them losing Favors and Harris in the deal. You loss your PF of the future and stud PG and get a great SF and crappy PG.

I don't really care, but I'm not sure how unreasonable this is. Denver faces losing Melo the same way ths Suns lost Amare because they waited rather than taking the best deal available. The nets might do the deal because Melo played at Syracuse (very misible to the New York market) and could offer the New York deal to Melo. It's expensive, but would make the Nets a contender.

Obviously, the Nets would have to think they can find another PG if they want to do it. I'm not convinced Harris is an elite PG, it could be a tough call.

Tentative trade is in place.
Nets would send Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh, and 4 first round draft picks.

Nuggets would trade Carmelo, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Melvin Ely, and Ronaldo Balkman.

All that stands in the way is Carmelo agreeing to the extension. I guess we will know if Carmelo really wants to play with the Knicks or not in a few days.

Melo doesn't want to go to the Nets, the Knicks don't want to give up the house for Melo, and Denver wants two houses for Melo... where it stops, nobody knows. :D

4 FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS? Insanity. If NJ really does this deal, they are somewhere beyond ********.

That owner just wants to compete so badly, he must be thinking with Melo there, he can bring in other talent and overpay them, 4 firsts is kinda friggin crazy though.

They're desperate for a big name to already be on the team when they move to Brooklyn and Carmelo is the biggest they can get right now. I also wouldn't expect Denver to keep all the picks. There is only so much room on a roster. They'll probably package a pick or two with another player (Nene?) or something.

It is not only 4 first round picks

It also includes Derrick Favors (top 3 pick) and Troy Murphy 11M$ expiring and Devin Harris.

And the 4 first round picks are the Nets pick which is in the lottery, the Golden State 2012 pick which likely is in the lottery, the Lakers 2011 pick and Houston 2012 protected pick

I think it was Mark Stein who said one of the 1st round picks would probably be packaged with Troy Murphy in a separate deal. What I don't understand from Carmelo's point of view is why he doesn't want to go to the Nets. He is from Brooklyn, so why wouldn't he want to be the face of a new franchise in his hometown?

Just heard on the tube Melo denied even knowing about a meeting with the Nets, so I don't think it's gonna happen.

Yeah, there has to be a lot more going on to this deal or it's just make believe. Actually, the Nets could safely make that offer because there isn't a chance in the world that Melo would agree to play long term for a team that has not only gutted it's present but given away it's future.

Agreed. Melo has had some relative success in Denver. If he didn't care about going to a winning team, I would think he wouldn't care if he was traded to any of the bottom feeders. However, didn't his agent and Melo give a "short list" to Denver?

NJ is offering Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh, and 4 first round draft picks. The rumored NY deal was, Galinari, Felton, a starter (likely Fields of Chandler), and Randolph (pick). I'm not sure why NJ feels the need to overpay with 4 picks when 2 picks easily makes their package the better deal, especially considering both NJ picks will likely be better than any pick that NY can get for Randolph.

You don't know what other teams have really offered.
