Hes not an NFL QB.

Taj Boyd came from the same exact system and was just as impressive. We want a QB, not a RB who occasionally throws the ball.

The kid has some magic to him no doubt. He also performed very well the last 2 years against the top teams almost every time.

I'd take him in a heartbeat, but unless Keim pulls the trigger he's not making it to #13. IMO he's the best of this QB class

Look at the teams that are still in the playoffs.....half of them have a QB who has won a Superbowl. It's a QB driven league. Win that position and build around.

Winston, Mariotta, Wentz & Newton rarely did either

I'd be more worried if Watson was coming from the Tech air raid offense because nowadays most college teams are running the spread or pistol offense anyway.

Good points. I like Watson a ton, don't get me wrong. The kid has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be tough as nails and a winner. What he's done versus Bama alone, on the biggest stage under the brightest lights is simply stunning! And he is a physical freak for sure. Still don't know how he stayed in bounds on that one TD run last night!
Who knows, maybe he comes into the NFL and pulls a Dak... but I have my doubts about how quickly these spread-only QB's can effectively transition to the NFL... that said, he will absolutely NOT be there at 13. He's top 10 for sure, if not top 5...

He won't be there at 13. In fact I think a few teams have likely moved him ahead of Trubisky. I see nothing in his performance that is Boyd-like. Watson is far more polished, stronger and much better at making several of the throws the NFL looks at when judging.

I remember some posters wanting Boyd when he came out, never amounted to anything. I also remember watching Boyd and saying he'll never make it in the NFL. Watson at best may find mediocre success in the NFL. He's a waste of a first round pick. I know I will get a lot of flak for this but I wouldn't pick him any earlier than the 4th round. Great athlete, fair QB. Career backup at best. Might make a good WR ala Terrelle Pryor who I hope the Cardinals make a play for in FA.
