Campbell is only 27. But many issues this offseason. 10 starters hitting free agency.
JR Sweezy
De’Vondre Campbell
Larry Fitzgerald
Patrick Peterson
Dre Kirkpatrick
Andy Lee
Zane Gonzalez
Corey Peters
Kelvin Beachum
Kenyan Drake
And others of note: Dan Arnold, Haason Reddick. Robert Alford and Justin Pugh are also cut candidates

would love to bring Devondre back... not sure it means anything but Pugh flipping multiple properties in Arcadia... I guess theoretically he could have those deals wrapped up before his contract is over but maybe he comes back on a team friendly deal?

Or maybe.... just maybe... Simmons won't bust and the Cards can move him into that role and save some cash

Too bad he's probably just a bust though

The Cardinals will have enough to keep who they want.

I'd keep Campbell. Maybe cut Hicks if it came to it.

Ya'll want Simmons to play more but want to resign Campbell to a multi year deal when Campbell plays the position they want to play Simmons.

I like Campbell, although he was better his first 2 games. I feel he's dropped off a bit.

Frankly, with the reduced cap next year they need Simmons to step up as we can't afford to pay Campbell starter money. But I'd be open to a 2/3 years deal at $4-5m per as part of a rotation because we can't keep playing our ILB's for every snap. With the cap lower next year there's not going to be be big money contracts around for middling FA's like him.

Exactly. I agree that Simmons is the heir apparent to Campbell and why the Cardinals are reluctant to switch his position this year. It would still be nice to see him on the field making some plays though.

I disagree on Campbell. Dude is going to get paid next year by someone. Should be 8-10m/year but I have no idea how the cap will impact contracts.

There are 15 teams with less that $15m in cap space in 2021 without signing any of their own FA's and with a bunch of spaces on the roster. There are 9 over the cap already. Going be a tough offseason for FA's next year.

Folks have been saying this for years. There are creative ways to create cap space.

Sure, but normally thats accompanied by an increase in cap space. Not a $20m decrease.

All the cap trade offs the Saints have made puts them $80m OVER the cap next year if it's $175m.

Can we play just Campbell and Simmons since Hicks hasnt been good for the defense this season so far?
