The Smits and Dexter relationship is the best storyline this show has had IMO.

Obviously now Dexter must kill Smits. There is no way around it.

But what a great story so far. Can't wait for Sunday's episode. If the previews hold true and Dexter acts out as it shows and it's not a dream, that wil be something to see.

hmmmm, this might be wayyyyyy out there, but I wonder if the serial killer is actually the chick in IA. It's just too obvious if it's Quinn. Now, what we know is this, we've seen the IA tagging along, following Deb's every move, right? She was there after Deb met with the kid, who later died and I'm pretty sure she saw her with Anton at some point. She's made it apparent that she wants Deb to turn against Quinn and Quinn said they had a past together. Maybe they really DID have a past together and Quinn's not full of **** and the IA girl is now killing his former "off the grid" CIs, setting him up to be the serial killer as a way of getting back at him.

I don't know. It just seems that we KNOW that the serial killer will be someone we know. It's not gonna be just some random dude and I think we can effectively rule out LaGuerta, the Asian dude, the Fat hispanic dude and the not-prostitute cop girlfriend and they've just laid it on wayyy too think with Quinn, so the only character left who's just dangling out there is the IA chick. By process of elimination and trying to outsmart myself, I dub her the serial killer.

Good stuff cheese.

I've been reading a lot of stuff about people sepculating that Smits/Defense Attorney are having an affair and that she goes missing after his visit. Leaving Dexter to believe Miguel was turned loose while the real killer gets away because he has been so tied up with Miguel/Rita.

That would be a twist.

So next week is the finale?

Damnit that was too fast! My favorite show on TV, by far.

Season finale was a little too nice and easy for me.

Not to say I didn't enjoy it and the Ramon angle certainly played out well, but it just didn't have the bang last year did.

Kind of a letdown considering I liked this season better than the others thanks to Jimmy Smits. That kind spiralled downward great.

man, this show is becoming like every great Stephen King book. An incredible build-up for a so-so finale.

everything wrapped up a little too nice and easy for me, but I liked the revelations Dexter came to and the entire season was just brilliant TV.

Maybe it's just a style over substance kind of thing for me, but I really enjoy being knocked out by a finale. Dexter doesn't seem to do that, nor does it really try though.

still an absolute great show. One of the top 5 on TV. Can't wait to see what they do next year. I just hope they break from the cycle of "Dexter has to kill the only person who understands him" thing they've seemingly got accustomed to doing.

I mean, at a certain point, Deb HAS to find out about him, right? Probably in the last season, but that's got to happen at some point you'd think.

There's already been a season 3, you mean news on season 4?

I read somewhere they've been shooting season 4 and it airs starting in Sept. A season 5 was also approved, so at least 2 more to go.

News on season 4...

John Lithgow kills for 'Dexter' role

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - John Lithgow is joining the cast of Showtime's serial-killer drama "Dexter," which begins its fourth season on September 27.

Lithgow will appear in all 12 episodes of the season, playing Walter Simmons, Miami's latest serial killer and Dexter Morgan's (Michael C. Hall) new nemesis.

Simmons is described as an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a dual life as one of America's most prolific serial killers, dubbed the "Trinity Killer" because of his proclivity to kill in threes.

After being tracked by FBI special agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine), Simmons relocates to Miami, where Dexter is brought on to assist in the investigation and becomes fascinated with the killer's skills.

Lithgow, an Emmy- and Tony-winner, co-starred in NBC's short-lived 2006 sitcom "Twenty Good Years."
